🔥During the Spring Festival, the weather was exceptionally sunny. Taking advantage of this rare good weather, I went for a walk by Chaohu Lake and visited Zhongmiao Temple. Standing on a high point and looking down, the vast Chaohu Lake sparkled, blending with the sky, creating a breathtaking view. 💋While strolling around Zhongmiao Temple, I was deeply attracted by the local snacks. The shrimp cakes were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with the delicious shrimp meat perfectly combined with the crispy cake crust, leaving a lingering taste. The fried fish was golden and crispy, with tender meat, and tasted even better with the special sauce. In addition, the fragrant pan-fried rice crust was also not to be missed, with each bite being crispy and delicious, making it hard to stop. 💞While enjoying these delicious snacks, I also admired the beautiful scenery of Chaohu Lake, which was truly a unique experience. It was built in the Han Dynasty and has a history of more than two thousand years. Initially, it was a Taoist temple dedicated to Bixia Yuanjun, also known as Zhongmiao Niangniang here. After the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Buddhism flourished while Taoism declined, and it gradually evolved into a Buddhist temple. This is a very wonderful temple, wonderful not because the temple itself is wonderful. But the place where it is built is wonderful. Most temples are built on the top of mountains, or at least on flat ground, but it is built beside a large lake, looking so inconspicuous, at first glance, you might even think it is in the lake. It is said that the temple was first built during the Eastern Wu period, and because it is located between Chaozhou and Luzhou, it is thus named "Zhong Temple". It has been renovated through the dynasties. Of course, Li Hongzhang must have been involved in it. Around Hefei city, which is now the surrounding area of Luzhou, any building with a bit of historical relics is related to Li Hongzhang, either he participated in the renovation or he participated in the construction. The scenery around the temple is quite nice in my opinion. To enter the temple, you need to buy a 10 yuan ticket, and right next to it is the boat that goes to Laoshan Island. But I didn't take the boat to Laoshan Island because several people told me that it's not worth the ticket price for the boat. After visiting the temple, I went to the nearby Zhaozhong Temple, then to the Li Wen'an Gong Ancestral Hall, which is the ancestral hall of Li Hongzhang's father. After visiting all these places, I wandered around the area for a while, and then I headed back home.
