We visited Danba, Jiaju and Suopo townships before coming to Zhonglu. All three of the small villages in Danba are super nice and beautiful, danba itself is a bit more of a gateway. However, Zhonglu was definitely our favourite! It's the most tucked away in and on the mountains, very authentic Tibetan and great Guesthouses with amazing foods. There are a ton of footpaths to explore this beautiful village. The third stop on the Western Sichuan Small Loop, the most famous Tibetan village in Danba is Jiaju Tibetan Village. When making a travel plan, I was torn between Jiaju and Zhonglu. Jiaju is larger, while Zhonglu has more watchtowers. The plan was to visit both in one day, but Shuangqiaogou was so exhausting that I decided to skip Jiaju and rest in Zhonglu for a day. I set off from Shuangqiaogou in the morning and arrived in Zhonglu in just over 2 hours. At the end of October, the colorful forest was just starting to change color, so it was still mostly green. 😂 But there were few tourists, so it was more comfortable to walk around the village. Zhonglu has three viewing platforms. The first is suitable for sunrise and morning panoramic shots, but the mountain to the east of the village is too high, so the sun doesn't reach the village until after 9 am, when the light is too harsh for good photos. The second is in the watchtower group in the village, next to a small alley with distinctive features, watchtowers, white walls, and Tibetan houses, which make for good photos. The sunset viewing platform is on the mountainside to the east of the village, where the setting sun shines on the village, and the smoke from the chimneys creates a great atmosphere. This time, I stayed in a homestay near the sunset viewing platform. The owner said it was only 200 meters away, so I walked up the mountain with my camera bag. It was all uphill, and I almost collapsed in front of the viewing platform. Who said there was no altitude sickness at 2,000 meters?

Snow-capped mountains, grasslands, streams, lakes, wooden bridges, yaks... it fulfills everyone's fantasy of a secluded destination. 📍Detailed address: Navigate to "Daping Pasture Village", about 50 kilometers from Xiaojin County town. Park your car in front of the temple at the very end of the village, then walk back to the first corner to enter the mountain for a hike. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the destination and return the same way. 🚉Travel tips: Road conditions: Only accessible by self-driving. The last stretch of the road is in very poor condition, not suitable for sedans. It's quite amusing to think about it. Since I started wandering the mountain roads to Danba yesterday, to my leisurely walk in the Zhonglu Tibetan Village today, I've been secretly comparing the Nanxi River with the cultural and tourism resources of Aba Prefecture. Aba boasts Tibetan culture and ancient watchtower clusters, while the Nanxi River has its own cultural heritage with ancient villages that are no less impressive. In terms of nature, aside from Aba's high-altitude snow-capped mountains and diverse species, the Nanxi River is quite similar to it. During spring, in Danba County of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, pear blossoms are in full bloom. Tourists dressed in Tibetan attire stroll through Zhonglu Tibetan Village, experiencing the Jiarong Tibetan folk culture. 'Zhonglu' means 'a place yearned for by both humans and gods' in Tibetan. The village is situated on an open plateau halfway up the hillside on the east bank of the Xiaojin River. Sheltered by the tranquil, poetic countryside at the foot of the famous Moerduo Sacred Mountain and the beautiful Tibetan watchtowers of the village, it is known as 'the most beautiful ancient watchtower Tibetan village.'
