Historic buildings
Yuyan Academy is located in Luogang Town, Baiyun District. Originally named Luokeng Jingshe, it was built in the 12th year of Jiaqing's reign (1219) of Ningzong in the Southern Song Dynasty. The folk academies in the Ming Dynasty were not prosperous, and Yuyan Academy fell into decline, and then became the Buddhist temple Luofeng Temple. On the east side of the original academy, the Daxiong Hall and the side hall were built, separated by a wall and connected by a door, forming a trend of integration and separation between the temple and the academy. The whole building is lined up against the mountain and the valley. There are two upper and lower entrances, and three horizontally divided into east and west. The structure is compact and the design is exquisite. There are Yuyan Hall and Qingyu Building on the west side, and there is a stone square pool between the halls. The springs in the mountains on the east side of the temple meander down, lingering inside and outside the temple, and the ding dong falls into the pool. The monastery has preserved the ink stone carvings of many scholars since the Tang and Song dynasties.
