Since I came all the way to Shimane Prefecture, I decided to treat myself to a one-day sightseeing trip! The first place I visited was Yushien Garden, a representative garden of Shimane Prefecture. The Yushi-en Garden in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, is famous for its peony flowers. Yuushien Garden is a Japanese garden located on Daikon Island in Yatsuka-cho, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. The construction of this garden began in 1970, and it has now become a pond and hill garden style Japanese garden of about 12,000 tsubo (40,000 square meters). Yuushien is known as a miniature garden of the Izumo region, featuring landscapes such as the Oni no Shitaburui in Oku-Izumo, the rich flow of the Hii River, the surface of Lake Shinji, and the reefs and reflections of Mount Daisen in Nakaumi.
