#Yunyuzhu Shanju (Hongcun Branch) Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Return to Nature | Stay in the Bamboo Sea, Open the Door to See the Mountains
Let's end the class here.
I'm going to stay in the mountains for a couple of days to rejuvenate.
It's a bit chilly in the winter mountains, but calm in the depths of the bamboo forest.
Blending with the wilderness, the breeze, and the birdsong.
From Huangshan City, it's a 1h drive to effortlessly switch to a fairy tale in the green wilderness, owning thousands of acres of bamboo sea. The homestay, with its natural aura, seems to grow out of the bamboo forest itself. Time here slows down, long enough to experience a romantic and poetic mountain life.
🏡Homestay: Mukeng Bamboo Sea/Yunyu Bamboo·Mountain Residence
📍Location: No. 5, Mukeng Group, Xingguang Village, Hongcun Town, Yi County, Huangshan City
(The homestay provides free tickets to Mukeng Bamboo Sea Scenic Area🎫)
The homestay is located within the Mukeng Bamboo Sea Scenic Area. The mid-mountain homestay is surrounded by lush bamboo, with bamboo seas rolling across the hills, visible everywhere. The homestay is enveloped by the bamboo sea, and the air is truly fresh. It's also the filming location for the movie 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. It's a very pet-friendly homestay. A tentative inquiry received an unexpectedly warm welcome. It feels like there's no need to think about anything here, just relax.
The spacious public area has places perfect for zoning out without leaving the homestay. The lobby has large bookshelves for reading, and the private card room is secluded and quiet. The open tea room on the second floor allows you to enjoy tea while admiring the beautiful scenery, which is refreshing and peaceful. My favorite is brewing tea around the stove in the small garden, watching the tea boil over the fire, smelling the fragrance, feeling incredibly comfortable and relaxed. Chatting with close friends, letting time pass slowly with the crackling of the charcoal fire. Sheep graze leisurely in the small garden, their figures extra soft in the sunlight. Meanwhile, I sip tea and read, enjoying this secluded tranquility.
This time, I stayed in the 180°C Bamboo Sea Terrace Deluxe Suite on the third floor. The room is equipped with underfloor heating, and the housekeeper will turn it on in advance, which is super heartwarming☺️. Once we entered the room, we didn't want to leave. The room is spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a large terrace, offering an unobstructed view. The room is fully equipped, so there's no need to worry about the hardware. Marshall speakers, a large bathtub🛁, and the full view of green is too comfortable. The homestay has a swimming pool and is very quiet at night. The natural white noise helps you fall asleep peacefully. It's quite suitable for summer retreats, spring and autumn hiking, and winter snow viewing.
The meals at Yunyu Bamboo will not disappoint you. A meal for two with four dishes and one soup, each dish is delicious, very authentic Hui cuisine. Highly recommend the hairy tofu and Hui-style stir-fried pork, which really can make you eat two bowls of rice. The flavors are original and fresh, not losing to any must-try restaurants outside. I wonder where they found such great chefs (remember to make a reservation with the housekeeper in advance). The breakfast is also very rich and satisfying.
If you wake up early the next day to see the sunrise and the cooking smoke, it's another serene experience. Breathing in the first rays of sunlight and air from nature is a healing gift.
Reluctantly leaving, but still have to return to the noisy city. However, with such weekends, workdays are also full of anticipation. See you next time~

Safety first when stepping on a landmine at Huangshan B&B!!!
Huangshan B&B/Healed by nature in the deep mountains at Yunyu Bamboo Mountain Residence
The B&B is located in the Mukeng Scenic Area of Yi County, Huangshan
We stayed in a 270-degree mountain view room, through the window you can see the lush bamboo forest outside, beautiful and healing
Includes breakfast, afternoon tea, and the option to brew tea or cook red wine by the stove.
If you want to take photos, you can do it in the room, there is a very large terrace~
Got up early at six in the morning to see the morning mist of Huangshan and the curling smoke from the village stoves. It took about three and a half hours to drive from Hefei, the B&B is on the mountain, and driving on mountain roads is quite nerve-wracking
But if you take the high-speed train, the housekeeper will pick you up at the train station
A ten-minute drive from Hongcun, stayed in Hongcun the next day, ate local dishes and drank rice wine.
Suggest a weekend trip, the timing is just right, left when it started to snow, the snow-covered southern Anhui is really extra beautiful
