[2025 Yufu Stay] Travel Guide for Yufuin Onsen Ryokan Mebaeso (Updated May)

#Overseas travel Even though it was a sweltering summer, I couldn't come all the way to Yufuin and not go to a ryokan?ㅎㅎ I thought it was going to be a lot of fun so I made a reservation and went, but I would have really regretted it if I hadn't! Not only was it a quiet place unique to Japan, but after taking a hot spring, I was able to recharge with a neatly prepared kaiseki meal and I felt like I was being treated specially💚 This is Mebaeso Ryokan, which everyone asked me about when I came back If I go to Yufuin again, I will definitely come back! We rented a car from Fukuoka Airport and traveled to Yufuin and Beppu hot springs. Beppu has a unique hot spring tour course called the Hell Tour, but I wouldn't highly recommend it. On the way from Fukuoka to Yufuin, there's a viewpoint at Aso Kuju National Park, which is absolutely beautiful. If you're renting a car, I highly recommend stopping by and taking a look around. We stayed at Mebaeso, one of the top two ryokans in Yufuin. The hot springs themselves were great, and the private family bath was particularly satisfying. The dinner kaiseki felt a bit lacking, so I recommend buying some food in advance. However, the breakfast set was an excellent meal.

#Hotel Accommodation Event The rooms are spacious and clean, and you can see Mt. Yufu through the window. The staff was friendly. Pick-up service is available from Yufuin Train Station, and it takes about 5 minutes. There are public baths for men and women, and two private family baths. The kaiseki and breakfast provided are also decent. A good place to relax in a quiet atmosphere.

The place I went to was Mebaeso Ryokan. It was a traditional ryokan that was remodeled and reinterpreted in a modern way. There are clean hallways, a restaurant, and even an elevator inside the ryokan. Not all rooms have private baths, but there are two family baths, so you can enjoy a private open-air bath.
