Tangyin Yuefei Temple, also known as Song Yuezhongwu King Temple and Jingzhong Temple, was first built in the first year of the Ming Dynasty's Jingtai era (1450). It is divided into the ancient architectural area of Yuefei Temple and the new museum area of Yuefei Memorial Hall, covering a total area of 18,100 square meters. There are more than 100 halls and rooms, more than 30 colored statues, and more than 300 steles by famous people from past dynasties. The overall layout of the architecture is rigorous and magnificent. The main hall of Yuefei Temple is majestic and solemn, with a heroic statue of Yue Fei inside. The temple courtyard is filled with steles, including Yue Fei's timeless masterpiece "Man Jiang Hong," "Return My Rivers and Mountains," "Ode to the Precious Sword," and handwritten copies of the "Qian Chu Shi Biao" and "Hou Chu Shi Biao." There are also calligraphy, paintings, and stone carvings by famous artists of past dynasties praising Yue Fei. It is a relatively well-preserved complex of Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture, one of the largest ancient architectural complexes in northern Henan, and one of the three major Yuefei Temples in China. Yuefei Temple faces south, with a rectangular outer contour and a rigorous layout. Most of the existing buildings are from the Ming Dynasty. There are six courtyards, mainly composed of Jingzhong Archway, Mountain Gate, Imperial Stele Pavilion, Main Hall, Yue Mu Ci Zi Shrine, Xiao'e Shrine, Yue Yun Shrine, Four Sons Shrine, and Three Generations Shrine, with more than 120 halls and rooms. It is a patriotic education base for future generations to commemorate the national hero Yue Fei and express their patriotic feelings. On June 25, 2001, Tangyin Yuefei Temple was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. There are three temples in China dedicated to Yue Fei, located in Tangyin, Anyang, Henan; Zhuxian Town, Kaifeng; and Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Tangyin is Yue Fei's hometown, and the Tangyin Yue Fei Temple commemorates his birth. Zhuxian Town was the site of Yue Fei's great victory over the Jin army, and the Zhuxian Town Yue Fei Temple commemorates his achievements. Hangzhou is where Yue Fei was killed, and the Hangzhou Yue Fei Temple commemorates his death. Yue Fei Temple, originally named Jingzhong Temple, is located at No. 84, Yue Temple Street, Tangyin County, Anyang City, Henan Province. It was built by the people to commemorate the national hero Yue Fei. Yue Fei, courtesy name Pengju, was a native of Tangyin and a famous general of the Song Dynasty. He was born in the second year of Chongning in the Northern Song Dynasty (1103) and was wrongfully executed in the 11th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1142). In the first year of Longxing (1163), he was exonerated. He was posthumously awarded the titles of King Wumu, King of E, and King Zhongwu. The temple was built in the first year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty (1450) and has been repaired several times. It now has more than 90 rooms, including Jingzhong Archway, Imperial Stele Pavilion, Main Hall, East and West Wing Rooms, and Sleeping Hall, and nearly 200 steles from different dynasties. It is valuable for the study of architecture and calligraphy, and especially for patriotic education. After Yue Fei was wrongfully killed, people built the Jingzhong Temple (the time of initial construction is unknown) on the foundation of the old Yue family house to commemorate him. Over time and through wars, the temple gradually fell into ruin. There are three Yue Fei Temples, located in Tangyin, Henan (birthplace), Zhuxian Town, Kaifeng (battlefield), and Hangzhou (place of harm), to commemorate the anti-Jin hero Yue Fei. At the entrance is the Shi Quan Shrine. In front of the shrine are five cast iron kneeling statues of Qin Hui, Wang, Wan Sizhen, Zhang Jun, and Wang Jun; inside the shrine is a statue of Shi Quan, holding a demon-slaying sword, glaring at the villains. Shi Quan was originally a military officer in Yue Fei's army and wanted to assassinate Qin Hui to avenge Yue Fei's death, but was killed by the treacherous officials. Hanging above is the 'Return My Rivers and Mountains' gold-plated giant plaque, written by Yue Fei. The beautifully painted beams and columns in the hall reflect the people's respect for Yue Fei.
