Yufu Island is a small island with a circumference of about 2 kilometres. From Iriomote Island, we will travel by buffalo cart. Because it crosses a very shallow sea, you can walk at low tide, but it is recommended to enjoy the buffalo cart while listening to the sound of the song three lines played by the guide. Depending on the mood of the buffalo, we will arrive in about 15 minutes.
The entire island is a subtropical botanical garden with an orchard, a zoo, and a restaurant. You can walk around the island in about an hour, so please enjoy the island while relaxing.

🐈An island that can be reached by buffalo from Iriomote Island🐾
Yubu Island, one of the highlights of Iriomote Island!
Ride a buffalo cart and slowly cross the sea while listening to the sound of the sanshin🐃
Yubu Island takes just under an hour to explore on foot, so you can enjoy it in half a day😍The gelato you can eat on the island is also delicious🍨
Of course, you can also make a day trip from Ishigaki Island!

Iriomote Island has two ports (Ohara Port and Uehara Port),
but Ohara Port has more flights, a lower cancellation rate, and there are many tourist spots nearby, so if you want to use it as a base, I recommend Ohara Port◎

[Yubu Island] Take a water buffalo cart ride from Iriomote Island! Explore the compact island
\How to walk on Yubu Island/
If you go to Iriomote Island, you should definitely go to Yubu Island!
It's on the east side of Iriomote Island, and you can ride a water buffalo cart there🐃
It's a very compact island, but it's very worth seeing!
You can ride a water buffalo cart on Taketomi Island, but personally,
I recommend this water buffalo cart when you go to Yubu Island◎
When I think that many people used to live here,
I felt a sense of history and it was a mysterious feeling.
Life on an island seems to be both fun and difficult.
When you go to Iriomote Island, Yubu Island is a really recommended place, so be sure to go there☺︎

During the ride, the driver plays Okinawan songs on the sanshin!
The circumference of Yubu Island is 2.15km,
and you can walk around the island in about an hour!
There are many plants suited to the subtropical climate,
and the whole island is like a subtropical botanical garden! 🥹
There are also many other spots, such as the butterfly garden where you can see the 13cm-long Ideia leuconoe, the largest butterfly in Japan, a specialty of Okinawa, and the water buffalo pool where you can see the water buffalo up close!
If you go to Iriomote Island, be sure to visit Yubu Island as well!

"Ishigaki Islands" Yubu Island Buffalo Cart
Yubu Island, an outlying island of Okinawa that can be reached by water buffalo cart, is a small island with a circumference of about 2km and an altitude of 1.5m, formed by the accumulation of sand deposited by ocean currents. It is about 500 meters from the east coast of Iriomote Island. Because the water depth is shallow, even at high tide it is only about 1 meter, so the route of leisurely crossing the sea from Iriomote Island on a water buffalo cart is very popular. This small island, about a 15-minute drive away, is an entire subtropical botanical garden filled with colorful tropical flowers all year round. There are also butterfly gardens, restaurants, shops, etc. Here you can enjoy the pristine scenery of Okinawa while feeling the leisurely island atmosphere.
