✨Comments:
On Jeju Island, Yongdu Rock is a legendary and stunning landscape wonder. When you approach the northern coast of Jeju Airport, what you see in the distance is not a high-rise building, but the "giant dragon head" standing on the basalt coast. Yongdu Rock is 10 meters high and 30 meters long, like a roaring black stone beast. The sound of the waves is like a dragon's roar, magnificent.
Walking on the trail, every step seems to be close to the legend. The northern legend says: A dragon who stole the jade beads of Hallasan God was shot into the sea and finally formed this dragon head rock . When the tide rises and the waves hit the basalt, it seems that the dragon is still struggling and roaring. The scene is both thrilling and moving. If you choose to visit on a slightly stronger wave, cloudy day or dusk, the outline of the dragon's body will be more blurred in the oblique light and wave shadows, like a phantom.
This place does not require tickets, can be visited freely, and has no height restrictions. It is suitable for parents, photographers, and travelers who want to relax. Many tourists choose to visit in the morning or evening in order to be in the same frame with the light and shadow, and enjoy the tranquility and grandeur of the moment. One time I arrived in the early morning, when the plane had just taken off, the wing reflected the morning light and hit the outline of the dragon. The picture was amazing, like an impromptu performance of natural and man-made forces.
Since the airport is nearby, there are coffee shops and sashimi restaurants along the coast. I chose to stop at the sea view coffee shop after taking pictures. Holding a hot tea in my hand, I saw the waves, rocks, and the flying shadows of the wings in front of me. I thought to myself, "The taste of Jeju comes from the grandeur of nature." On the way back from the walk, you can also go around to Yongyeon Cloud Bridge. There are often couples walking slowly and anglers hanging their lines there. The daily atmosphere is gentle and stable.
The only thing to note is that the rock surface near the cliff will be slippery and wet. Many tourists install selfie sticks on their mobile phones, so you need to pay attention to safety when taking pictures. If there are big waves, you must also stand behind the safety line to enjoy. Although there is no entry restriction and the crowds are small, you still need to watch your steps during the evening.
Overall, Longtou Rock is more artistic than a "check-in photo". It is a transit point for a journey with myths, momentum and natural healing. It is not just a rock, but also a story, a feeling, and a moment of encountering nature and legends. If you want to see a dragon, listen to the sea, and experience the shock of a wing falling from the sky, this is the only place. It is recommended to put it in the early morning or evening section of the itinerary, leaving some time to walk, take pictures, drink a cup of coffee, and feel the most primitive and poetic side of Jeju.
Longtou Rock is not only reflected in the photos, it will be reflected in your heart during the trip.
