Yokohama OKTOBERFEST: Beer, German Cuisine, Night Views, and a Lively Atmosphere!
Don't think that beer festivals only happen in Germany. Yokohama also hosts a vibrant one! Japan's largest beer festival, Yokohama OKTOBERFEST, is grandly held every year from late September to October at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse! Many locals make a special trip to visit, and foreign tourists also come to join in, creating an amazing and lively atmosphere.
In addition to tasting various beers, you can also enjoy German dishes like sausages and roast pork. This year, there's even a new pairing of beer with baked oysters!
At night, you can see the charmingly lit Red Brick Warehouse and the Yokohama night view. Plus, you can join in with locals singing German songs and dancing folk dances.

Recommended to visit on weekdays or weekend
This place is a must visit if you’re in Yokohama. They have a few spots where you can sit and relax but it’s gets crowded at times so it can be hard to find an open seat.
They do have the history of this place on the wall in smaller building, be sure to check it it’s unique history.
A great shopping experience awaits those who have walked from Yokohama station, a closer station or an even closer cruise ship. One of only a few brick built buildings in Yokohama and definitely worth a visit. It also located near the sea, so the view is amazing

Red bricks
I visited this place many times and specially when there is some special event going on around here. There are many food shops inside and the surrounding view of Yokohama bay is also very beautiful and relaxing. I must say it a good place to visit.
A beautiful old structure - German architecture, most likely. Hosting events around it. The sight of this red bricks building is a treat to eyes and it attracts you.

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 2
Although the building is not very tall, it is quite long. It has been repurposed from a port warehouse, similar to those in Kaohsiung, into a space for creative products, unique style shops, art exhibitions, and restaurants. It is a great place for young people to gather and shop. The shopping pathways and widths within the building are relatively narrow, making it quite crowded when there are many people. Additionally, the smell of cooking oil from the restaurants can be quite strong. However, the restroom design is very good.

Flower Garden at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
We were so fortunate to catch the Flower Garden festival at Yokohama’s Red Brick Warehouse! The flowers were a stunning colour and many people brought their dogs to take photo with the flowers as a beautiful background. There were also pop-up stalls on the sides selling floral themed items and the event organizer distributed the flowers on the last day of the event. It was so thoughtful and environmentally friendly.

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is a cultural landmark and it is part of the scenery along the shores of Yokohama Port. The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse used to be the city's main shipping hub, and now, it is used as a complex that includes a shopping mall, bars, coffee shops, banquet hall, and event venues. Inside the warehouse there are many unique shops and restaurants. You can easily buy your souvenir inside the warehouse. It is a great place to spend for your day over there to take some picturesque pictures inside and outside the warehouse.

This is a must-visit in Yokohama. Three buildings. The first floors are all food oriented. Lots of food options. The 3rd floor also has restaurants. There are on the 2nd floor and scattered throughout are artisan outlets, specialty stores, tchotchkes, and other zakka. On the weekends, they have food trucks galore. This place is a surprising food mecca.
I want to come back here in summer and try the food and drinks.

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
One of the smarter moves in the redevelopment of Yokohama's bayside Minato Mirai area was the decision to preserve these former customs houses, which date back to the early 20th century. The two warehouses (known as 'akarenga' in Japanese) survived the 1923 Kanto earthquake thanks to iron reinforcements, and emerged unscathed from WWII.
The No 2 building underwent redevelopment in 2022 and is now home to a refreshed selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Popular breakfast spot Bills is still here after the renovations, alongside a Disney Harvest Market for Mickey Mouse-themed meals, environmentally-friendly houseware store Sustainable Think and craft chocolate maker Chocola Meets, to name but a few of the 66 stores.
It's not all about shopping here, though. The No 1 building gets used for a wide range of events, including exhibitions and performances.
In 2024, I wish to be back here in December.

Christmas Market 2023
My favorite place..you can walk from landmark tower or you can take Sea Bass provides access from East Gate of Yokohama Station (Yokohama Bay Quarter) to Minato Mirai to Red-Brick Warehouse.
During winter there was a Christmas market and ice rink which was so much fun thing to do. Just 1000yen per person. You can skate till 9pm (approximately). They provide you with gloves and skating shoes. Even the kids shoes were present. It was one great experience.

Redbricks warehouse
One of the top tourist places in yokohama and great place to enjoy the sea view as well as vintage red bricks warehouse.
Houses approximately 40 shops each having unique concepts. You can feel close to the ocean from the open cafes, restaurants, food court ("Picnic Court") and variety goods shop on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor has many characteristic interior, jewelry and variety goods shops. More restaurants, cafes and bars can be found on the 3rd floor. The cafe "Chano-ma" themed on "21st century tea room", and "bills" famous for "the best breakfast in the world" are especially popular.

Christmas Market Yokohama
Visited the Christmas market here filled with lively Christmas food stalls and seasons gifts. Fantastic Christmas atmosphere capped by the big Christmas tree with the pier in the background. Nice place to spend time shopping for gifts and quick bite and drink.
Christmas market will help at outdoor area of red brick warehouse every year , mostly German food and local goods fuse in this venue. It reminds me of the Christmas markets.
The night view is also beautiful. You can see the sea from nearby even in the daytime. It's not far from the station, and has easy access to various shopping centers and Yamashita Park, making it a perfect facility for dates and walks.
Events such as bread festivals, curry festivals, beer festivals, etc. are held frequently, so you can decide on the day to go after researching.

A huge area for different functions depending on which seasons. I was here during winter and they even had an ice-skating rink at the Red Brick Warehouse. The warehouses are built with red bricks and you can take very nice landscape photos here. These warehouses are now part of a retail and restaurants space. ALso, mamy cultural events are taking place here too. A fun fact, I was here during February 2020 and the world is facing a shortage of toilet paper. In Japanese toilets, there are always many extra toilet papers and so far I did not see any empty shelves. So nobody is taking away the toilet paper.

Berrysurprise
It was formerly used as customs building, but now it has been turned to a historical building, which has a shopping hall, banquet and event venues. It is called Red Brick because of this previous warehouse is made of red bricks, if that's not obvious from the photos. There are actually 2 buildings. The area is huge. When we went there, there was this concert event at the event complex. Great timing!
