The Yodoko Guest House is the only residential project by architectural master Frand Lloyd Wright in Japan, built in 1924. It was completed earlier than Wright's representative work, "Fallingwater". Unlike the modernist use of concrete, the entire building uses local "Oya stone" as raw material, creating a rough style. Similar to "Fallingwater", both were built along the mountains and rivers, taking advantage of the terrain, which is similar to the Chinese concept of "adapting measures to local conditions". This means that when you leave Hankyu Ashiya Station and head to the Yodoko Guest House, the entire building does not suddenly appear in the distance, but gradually appears as the slope increases.

After visiting Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan, I became a fan of architect Wright. This building was, strictly speaking, directed by a disciple of Wright, but the Wright flavor is felt throughout, and I am very satisfied! 【Points to enjoy☝️】 ・A work by the famous American architect Wright. -HYOUGO- 🇺🇸A mansion in Ashiya left by an American master I suddenly realized that I live in Hyogo but I haven't introduced any nearby places, so I grabbed my camera and went out to take some photos one weekend🤭 The mansion on the cover is about a 15-minute walk from Hankyu Ashiyagawa, up a hill, and you can see all the way to Osaka Bay and Wakayama.
