A huge piece of salt marshes, arranged in turn in the distance, stretches for several kilometers, like a vast expanse of farmland. Under the illumination of the sun, it shows different colors and draws a magical picture.
Between this seemingly white, the workers who work in it are particularly obvious, but they are exceptionally small. Despite the fact that today's Yinggehai Salt Field is gradually shrinking, it is still very shocking.
Twilight is approaching, the sun-like sun gradually recedes into the temperature, turning into a golden ball, shining on the salt marsh. The salt water passes through the reflections, and it also displays a variety of fascinating colors, spreading in the heavens and the earth.
Yantian filled with salt water, because of the different time of the sun, it shows different colors. This huge square is like a natural palette, with endless colors, bringing countless shocking visual impacts.
Overlooking the heights, these well-arranged salt ponds are more refined. It seems to open the usual cosmetic case for women, and collect countless gorgeous colors in turn.
Adam Yue.
On both sides of the straight old railway, there are countless white salt piles. The distant mountains are rising and falling. In the blue sky, the blossoming white clouds float lightly. This wonderful scene can not help but think of the dream scenes often depicted in fairy tales.
The ground is full of salt mixed with white flowers, and workers are struggling to load them into the car. Maybe in the near future, they will enter thousands of households and become the spices on your table.
If it is not immersive, it is hard to imagine that the white salt crystals are condensed together, as if the snow is crystal clear and difficult to understand, the process of making salt is so interesting.
In the salt field, facing the endless white salt crystal, if it is not the hot sun, sweating, always gives people the illusion of being in the snow and ice, the purity, always give one Kind of long-lost movement.
Adam Yue.
The weather is sunny today and my smile is both sweet and salty.
The weather is sunny today🌞The smile can be either salty or sweet
It’s the beginning of a day of “bringing salt” to the Ledong Yingge Salt Farm🔛
🌟Highlights:
The Yinggehai Salt Field in Ledong County is the largest sea salt field in Hainan Island. Facing the sea and backed by Jianfengling forest area. On one side is the endless sea, on the other side are towering mountains. In the southwest corner of Qiongdao, there is a tidal flat area of more than 30 square kilometers, with very excellent salt industry conditions. The endless silver-white sea of salt is gleaming in an orderly manner.
❤Reason for recommendation:
Within the nearly 3,800 hectares of the salt field, 1/3 of the area is swamps and salty lakes. There are no rivers around the salt field that can discharge a large amount of fresh water, so the seawater is not easily diluted. The seawater in Yinggehai has extremely high salinity. The sea water reaches the end and bids farewell to the moisture, creating the unique "snow" scenery of the salt fields and salt mountains, a beautiful mirror of the sky.
From the war years to the present, the perseverance of generations of salt dryers has turned into grids of salt drying pools, and the piles of pure white salt are as clear as the first snow, clearing people's hearts. Walk into the Yingge Salt Farm and better understand the "saltness" and "sweetness" of this land.
"The vast expanse of salt fields is the Yinggehai Sea, a paradise of eternal spring all year round. It drives the sun to fill the charcoal fire, and burns the sea water to turn it into silver mountains." Guo Moruo once used a poem to praise the Yinggehai Salt Field. He not only wrote about the beauty of the natural environment here, but also used it like this The extremely romantic and heroic words praise the greatness of human power.

Ledong Travel Guide | Yinggehai, a Sunny Journey of Salt
This is probably my third time visiting Yinggehai Salt Field. The first time I came here, it was basically a ruin, especially the factory building, which is now the Sea Salt Culture Museum. Before, you could only look inside through the broken glass and see the traces of past production and mottled big characters. Now, with development, it has become a place to tell the history of Yinggehai Salt Field. Due to the natural geographical location and excellent climate, a grain of salt begins its sunny journey in Yinggehai, drying seawater into a silver mountain!

Self-driving Tour to Hainan's Yinggehai Salt Field
Yinggehai Salt Field is one of the three major salt fields in China and the largest sea salt field in southern China. Here is a detailed introduction about it:
1. Geographic Location: Located in Ledong Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province, at the southwestern end of Hainan Island, with a longitude of 108°44' E and a latitude of 18°30' N, covering an area of 38 square kilometers.
2. Formation Conditions
• Climate: Yinggehai Town is located on the leeward slope of the southeast monsoon of Jianfengling, with little rainfall, many sunny days, and sufficient sunlight, which is conducive to salt drying.
• Topography: The terrain is flat and open, providing a large area for salt drying.
• Seawater: The seawater has a high salinity, maintaining 3.5 degrees Baumé throughout the year, providing excellent conditions for salt production.
3. Development History:
• The area of Yinggehai Salt Field was originally a beach, which later evolved into a mudflat due to geological changes. Its origin can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty. During the Japanese occupation of Hainan Island, large-scale exploration of Yinggehai Salt Field was conducted.
• In 1954, representatives from Huangliu District of Yaxian County proposed the construction of Yinggehai Salt Field. In 1955, the decision was made to build Yinggehai Salt Field, and in September of the same year, the preparatory office for Yinggehai Salt Field was established in Guangzhou.
• In 1958, Yinggehai Salt Field was completed and put into operation. At the end of November of the following year, the first batch of raw salt was shipped out.
• In February 1962, the construction of Yinggehai Salt Field was ordered to be suspended, marking the end of the large-scale construction phase.
• Since 1978, part of the salt transportation at Yinggehai Salt Field has been done using salt trucks, while the rest is carried manually.
• In April 1988, Yinggehai Salt Field was handed over to the Hainan Provincial Salt Administration. By 1991, a total of over 4.68 million tons of raw salt had been produced.
• On April 20, 2003, a salt harvester was assembled and successfully tested, named "Yingyan No. 1".
• In February 2008, it was managed by Hainan Development Holdings Co., Ltd.
• In July 2016, the high-end sea salt production base of Yinggehai was officially established.
4. Production Process:
• In traditional salt production, there is a tidal channel about 300 meters long and 50 meters wide, allowing seawater to naturally flow into the reservoir with the tides. The seawater enters the reservoir evaporation pond for primary evaporation, then stays in the primary evaporation pond for 6 days, the intermediate evaporation pond for 9 days, and the advanced evaporation pond for 14 days. At this point, the seawater is gradually concentrated from the initial 3.5 degrees Baumé to 25 degrees Baumé saturated brine, which can be irrigated into the crystallization pond for salt workers to dry salt. After drying in the crystallization pond for 3-5 days, the salt workers can collect the salt.
• The intangible cultural heritage inheritor of "Yinggehai Old Salt Drying Technique", Lai Qinghai, has unique requirements for making old salt. The old salt is dried from March to May each year, when the temperature is not high, preventing the sea salt crystals from forming too quickly and creating composite crystals. The key to ensuring the old salt's perfect hexagonal shape and resistance to breakage is to control the initial production time. The drying cycle for ordinary sea salt is 29 days, while the drying cycle for Yinggehai old salt must exceed 100 days. The premium salt produced must be sun-dried, weathered, and precipitated for 5 years, then transferred to a high-temperature warehouse for over 10 years of long-term storage. During production, experienced craftsmen choose salt ponds with sufficient depth to ensure the slow growth of salt crystals. They accurately control the freshness and saturation of the brine during the production stage, with a brine concentration of 25 to 27 degrees Baumé being the ideal "growth" environment for old salt. This requires frequent monitoring of the brine concentration and timely adjustments to the optimal time and frequency for daily brine stirring (loosening the salt). This "new, deep, and long" crystallization process ensures that the sodium chloride content of the old salt exceeds 95%. When collecting old salt, the second batch operation collects qualified old salt granules, usually collecting about seven-tenths of the old salt and leaving about three-tenths as ordinary sea salt.
5. Honors Received: In 1984, the high-quality sun-dried salt produced by Yinggehai Salt Field was rated as a high-quality product by the Ministry of Light Industry and the provincial level; in 1985, it was awarded the title of Excellent Product by the Guangdong Salt Industry Company; in 1986, it won first place in the industry evaluation by the Ministry of Light Industry; in 1988, it received the national secondary metrology standard certificate.
6. Tourism Features:
• Salt Field Scenery: The vast salt fields are as white as snow, sparkling under the sunlight like a "mirror of the sky", making it very suitable for photography.
• Production Process Tour: Visitors can walk along the small paths of the salt fields, observe the production process of the salt fields, learn about the sea salt making process, and experience the unique charm of industrial culture.
• Sunrise and Sunset Views: The scenery during sunrise and sunset is particularly enchanting and should not be missed.
7. Surrounding Facilities:
• Nearby the salt field are the Yinggehai Salt Field Chemical Plant, Salt Field Cultural Center, Mirror of the Sky, and Wuqifan Farm.
• There is also the Yinggehai Salt Field Salt Culture Museum, located on the road under construction north of Xinxian Hotel in Yinggehai Town, Ledong Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province. The museum provides detailed introductions to the processes of seawater intake, brine making, crystallization, salt harvesting, piling, and drying, offering visitors an interesting salt culture tour.
8. Travel Tips:
• The best time to visit is from March to October each year, when the weather is sunny and the sunlight is sufficient, allowing you to enjoy the most beautiful salt field scenery.
• Pay attention to sun protection during the visit, as the sunlight reflected by the salt fields is very strong.
• Respect local production activities and do not step on the salt fields or damage the facilities.
• Wear comfortable shoes, as the roads in the salt fields may be uneven.

One of the four major salt fields - Hainan Yinggehai Salt Field
Yinggehai Salt Field is the largest salt field on Hainan Island and is second to none in Southern China. Located in Ledong County, facing the sea and backed by the Jianfengling forest area, it covers an area of more than 30 square kilometers of tidal flats. Here, you can see the endless expanse of silvery salt sea, with orderly crisscrossing channels, and the salt fields shimmering with silver light, presenting a very beautiful scene.

Yingge Sea Salt Field - It's not just as pure as snow, it's also the result of the hard work of the older generation
🚗Transportation: Self-driving navigation to 'Yingge Sea Salt Field'
✈Tickets: Free
📸Photography: The navigation location is the Sky City and the vast salt fields, which are private salt fields where you can take pictures of the Sky City and salt piles. PS: You can't step on the salt piles to take pictures~
🧡Yingge Sea in Ledong has a unique geographical advantage. The back mountain is Jianfeng Ridge, so typhoons and rain will not affect the salt fields, and there are no freshwater lakes nearby, so Yingge Sea is not much different from the Dead Sea. Therefore, the long-term exposure to the sun has made it the first salt field in Hainan and even the south.
💛So this has created a geographical location that is very, very, very sunny! The kind of sun that wants to sun you into salt🧂! The sweat beads are cracking!
💚In summary! It is recommended to go to the Sea Salt Culture Museum to watch the salt-making process, tools, and the construction and history of Yingge Sea Salt Field after taking pictures. It's really not easy! And the air conditioning in the cultural museum is very cool!
🖤Avoiding Thunder: Many people on the internet say it's very bad or very disappointing, but I still tour thinks that travel is not the kind of fast-paced check-in style, it's about understanding what you don't know, and deepening what you do know. You might think it's meaningless to go a long way to see a few salt piles, but the people of Yingge Sea who built this salt field developed it bit by bit by boat and on foot. You might think it's meaningless to be exposed to the sun and heat, but the salt generation of the salt field has to do this every day. Although the advancement of technology does not need to be so tired, we cannot deny the contribution and construction that has been made. If you don't have a good mentality and an eye for beauty, it's meaningless wherever you go. The spirit of Yingge Sea is worth learning from.
👣Route: We navigated to the salt field, we were confused and took a lot of photos and videos, then followed the salt truck, then took pictures of the small train and salt warehouse, and then went to the Sea Salt Culture Museum. This route is quite good.
⚠Note: If you are afraid of the sun, and only for taking pictures or easily collapse mentality, I think you can visit other places.
☀Finally: Don't step on the salt pile to take pictures, you can take good pictures from a distance, because it produces a variety of edible salt, and industrial salt, etc., do not try to taste, you taste is also salty haha~

Visit the salt fields in Hainan in winter, and feel the sea salt with your own hands
Before the Spring Festival, I drove on the west line of Hainan, found this salt field located in the southwest corner of Hainan Island, Ledong, and came to see it in the afternoon. The road was not easy to walk, and I finally arrived after a bumpy ride.
🌴Salt Culture Museum:
It records the establishment and development history of the salt field, which is not big, and there are some historical exhibits.
🌴Sea salt warehouse, old warehouse, railway and locomotive, salt field salt pile
It has a sense of age, looking at the slogan of burning seawater into silver mountains, I felt the vigorous labor atmosphere.
There are several large salt piles, you can directly touch the sea salt, feel the coarse salt particles, the salt field has a semi-crystalline state, and there is a large area of water that can't see anything. It will be more beautiful if the weather is good with blue sky and white clouds, or the sunset is full of rosy clouds.
It's okay to come and see on the way, after all, you can't see the sea salt field in the inland.

I surprisingly found a "snow mountain" in Sanya
🏠Yinggehai Salt Field: A free and less-known scenic spot. It doesn't have the spectacular view of the salt lakes in the northwest, but it's quite down-to-earth.
✅Some small details are quite story-telling~
⚠️After all, it's a free spot and there's not much human intervention, so the reviews from travelers are mixed. But if you're driving by, you can stop by for a visit. There's no need to come all the way here just for this.
🚶Tour route reference:
✅The park is very simple. There's a small exhibition hall at the entrance, introducing the history of salt production.
✅Then, with the railway as the center line, there are salt pools on both sides. Due to different light reactions, the colors of the salt pools are also different: white, yellow-brown, earthy pink. Observing these changes is quite interesting.
✅At the end, there are the old train and salt field, which still have a sense of historical vicissitudes. This is also where many people take photos. The effect is better on sunny days~

Into the beautiful and suffocating state of the singer of the sea, savoring, the vast sky, with the afterglow of the sunset, the earth is dyed golden. The kind people in the field quietly embraced and smiled and faced the world, creating the beauty of this pure world. There is always a moment to recall this elegant state. I will remember the smiles of those who are harmonious, the dreamlike beauty.
Windmills for wind power in the distance, with strong winds. Among the green vegetable fields, women are working hard with the sun. They wear straw hats and wrap their faces in a tight and tangible manner.
With the gradual sunset, the Yangge Sea Salt Field also ushered in the most dreamy moment of the day. In the sunshine, the entire salt field turned into a golden world, weaving a wonderful dream.
