🗓️Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at a nearby airport in the morning and transfer to Yeongdeok County by bus. After checking in to the hotel and taking a short break, take a taxi to Yeongdeok Beach. Spend about 3 hours here playing in the sand, feeling the sea breeze, and enjoying the waves. You can also watch the stunning sunset over the ocean in the evening.
Day 2: Charter a car early in the morning to Jukdo Island. The island's natural scenery is pristine. Hike around the island, admiring the unique coastal landforms, which takes about 4–5 hours. Return to the city in the afternoon and explore the traditional market to experience local life.
Day 3: Take a bus to Yeongdeok Purple Reed Field. Take photos of the vast expanse of purple reeds swaying in the wind. After 2–3 hours of sightseeing, pack your bags and prepare for your return trip.
🌟Highlights
Yeongdeok Beach: The beach has fine, soft sand and crystal-clear water, and the surrounding facilities are well-equipped. At dusk, the afterglow of the setting sun casts a shimmering glow on the sea, creating an incredibly romantic scene. Every photo you take here will be a masterpiece.
Jukdo Island: Like a pure land forgotten by the world, the island is covered with rugged rocks and flocks of seabirds. Standing on the viewing platform and looking out into the distance, the vast blue sea stretches as far as the eye can see, soothing both body and mind.
Yeongdeok Purple Reed Field: In autumn, this place transforms into a sea of purple, with vast expanses of purple reeds dancing in the wind. It's like stepping into a fairy tale world, and every pose you strike is photogenic.
🍱Food Recommendations
You must visit Yeongdeok Seafood Restaurant, which is near the beach. Their sashimi platter features ingredients caught fresh that morning, incredibly fresh and melts in your mouth. There's also the crab soup, a pot full of tender, plump crabs in a rich, flavorful broth. It's incredibly delicious and a must-try in Yeongdeok County!
🏨Accommodation Experience
I stayed at the Yeongdeok Beach Hotel, which has a fantastic location right by the beach. The rooms are spacious and bright, and you can hear the sound of the waves as soon as you open the window. The hotel service is also very attentive, with staff enthusiastically helping to plan itineraries. It offers excellent value for money.
📌Things to Note
Book ferry tickets to Jukdo Island in advance on the official website, as tickets are in high demand during peak season. Yeongdeok County experiences frequent rainfall in summer, so remember to bring an umbrella. The temperature difference between day and night is significant in spring and autumn, so it's best to bring a light jacket. Also, don't hesitate to bargain a little when shopping at the traditional market.
Yeongdeok County is truly a place full of surprises, with enchanting scenery and mouthwatering food. I'm sure you'll fall in love with it too. Add it to your travel list and start planning your trip!
