Waffles recently visited the long-admired "Yat Tung Heen" for the first time. The restaurant is located in the basement of Eaton Hotel Hong Kong, and the elevator entrance is located on Beihai Street. Eaton Heen has been awarded #MichelinOneStar since 2017. Waffles likes the tables to be far enough apart. Yat Tung Heen also has a lot of diners during weekday lunch hours, so remember to make reservations in advance. The seating time for the waffle day is 12:45 p.m., and the other two time slots are 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The lunchtime dim sum offer at Yat Tung Heen is only available from Monday to Friday (except public holidays). The dim sum at $38 is the most attractive, and includes shrimp dumplings and siu mai. A bit disappointed with the bamboo shoot and shrimp dumplings ($38), as the skin on at least two of them was worn through. The steamed siomai with scallops ($38) has more scallop flavor than the usual siomai, and the taste is richer. The Barbecued Pork Sesame Huangqiao Shaobing ($48) is full of sesame aroma. Coming to Hong Kong is mostly food-motivated for me and I have tried so many of them. Yat Tung Heen is Michelin star rated and located inside Eaton Hotel. They have a special curated menu for their in-house guests and I was presented with a bottle of wine for being their regular patron. It is a proper restaurant with plenty of spaces in between tables and it is not as rowdy as compared to the “cha chaan teng”. They are an upscale restaurant serving exquisite Cantonese cuisine. I took their dinner menu so I did not have a chance to try their dim sum. It was a decadent meal and I was touched by my choice to dine here. The long-famous Yi Tung Heen in Jordan is a Michelin-recommended dim sum restaurant. I finally made a reservation to give it a try.
