I came to BKK, Yaowarat Road, to try some of the Michelin gourmet bib stalls.
To my expectations, really nothing to rave for.
E.g. Kway chap Uan Photchana, Nai Mong Hoi Tod (Fried Oysters) & Pa Tong Go Savoey (Thai doughsticks)
I cant list all, but most of them are below my expectations.
Some other unknown food vendors had much better food & pricings.
So I encourage you guys to try other stalls too.
Yaowarat itself is a tourist trap, so don't just try those stalls with Michelin Gourmet Bib.
Give the rest a chance too. You might come across a gem.

Grilled squid @ Yaowarat
The popular grilled squid in Yaowarat has a long waiting time if you come in late. We reached early when there are not much people.
The squid is freshly-grilled after ordering and this is the reason why there is always a queue! We waited about 15 minutes for our squid to be done.
The grilled squid is chewy and goes well with their home-made chilli sauce. It can get really spicy even for those who take spicy food.

Freshly-grilled Patonggo in Yaowarat
This particular shop located in Yaowarat sells the famous thailand Patonggo which is known as fried doughnut.
Their doughnut has already been fried and they will grill the doughnut upon ordering. It’ll take some time because it is freshly grilled on the spot. There are 2 sauces we can choose from which are kaya and condensed milk.
The doughnut is crispy and goes very well with the sauces.

Bangkok Chinatown foodie heaven
Yaowarat, or Chinatown in Bangkok comes alive every night with street food. Always busy and packed with locals and tourists, the main road is lined on both sides with a huge variety of street food, plus the side streets and alleyways also feature multiple eateries and food vendors. Fresh roasted chestnuts are a must try, there’s also fresh seafood and Chinese roast meats. Sharkfin soup and fish maw soup can be found at many street restaurants. Freshly squeezed sugar cane juice is refreshingly cold especially in the heat of Bangkok. There are plenty of fresh fruit stores with a whole range of exotic tropical fruits.

Chinatown in Bangkok
Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, Thailand
Yaowarat is the Chinatown of Bangkok. From pratunam, I took a taxi in the morning, and it costs me 75 baht with slight traffic jam. The journey took 20 minutes.
The street is filled with amazing food stalls. I personally loved the kway chap stall where generous portions of meat and kway were served. The soup was also flavourful too.
There were many shops selling birds nests, seafood, and Chinese herbs. Some of them do speak Chinese, or some dialect. My family favourite shop would have to be the long zhen xiang. They are famous for their pork floss snacks. I would usually spend some time inside the shop to select my gifts for my neighbours, relatives, friends, and colleagues. The best part is that you get to try them before buying.
If you are looking for snacks for your friends, do visit the ling zhen xiang at yaowarat. Do try out their pork floss snacks too. You would definitely love it. Do come during the fall season as the weather would be much cooling.
