For military considerations, they chose this easy-to-defend and hard-to-attack place, and gave it a name called Wusheng, which means 'win by martial arts'. The name of Wusheng County also comes from this. After the Mongolian army retreated, it became a place where people gathered and gradually formed a town. The prosperity of the ancient town in the past came from the convenient waterway transportation on the Jialing River. When the Jialing River, which is thousands of miles long, passed through the ancient town, it stopped the roaring of the river and formed a calm river section of more than a thousand meters. It is an ideal natural harbor. The passing merchant ships all docked here, bringing Qinling medicinal materials, Xiang'e cotton yarn, Neijiang sugar, local miscellaneous grains and other materials to Nanchong, Langzhong, Guangyuan, and down to Hechuan, Chongqing, becoming an important material distribution center and famous wharf in eastern Sichuan and northern Sichuan.
