[2024 Yangzhou Stay] Travel Guide for Yangzhou Slender West Lake Wanfeng Hotel (Updated Nov)
[Hotel Experience Vol.14] Maple Leaf Hotel, Slender West Lake, Yangzhou.
Maple Leaf Hotel, Slender West Lake, Yangzhou (Hanjiang District, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province) Room rate: CNY 428
Room type: Deluxe King Room upgraded to Lake View Twin Room
Points: Basic 1000 + Welcome 500 + Targeted 3000 = 4500 Overview
I went to Yangzhou for a weekend trip. Although it was not March, there were still many beautiful scenes. This Maple Leaf Hotel is the only Marriott hotel in Yangzhou, which opened last year. It was originally called Yangzhou Central Maple Leaf, including the sign at the door, but the official name has been changed to Slender West Lake Maple Leaf.
The hotel is only 450 meters away from the west gate of the Slender West Lake Scenic Area, and the straight-line distance is even closer. There are more residential buildings and hotels around, and there are more restaurants near the scenic area. Of course, it is not far to take a taxi to Dongguan Street.
One day in advance, the hotel called to ask about the arrival time and special requirements. On the day of check-in, the hotel called again in the morning to follow up and implement the situation, and explained that all room types in the hotel are the same, only the orientation is different. Finally, I helped to reserve a lake view twin room. When checking in, the front desk was very enthusiastic and introduced the hotel situation in detail. Breakfast is provided, and points and snacks are optional. The mini bar is free for the first round. After checking in, I was sent to the elevator, and this service was really in place. Room
The hotel room is a regular Maple Leaf level, and the bedding is a bit rough and not very comfortable. The toilet has a heating function, there is a handheld hanging ironing machine in the room, and the control panel of the air conditioner is at the head of the bed, which is really good. The lake view of the room looks like a small river, so don't expect too much. Catering
The hotel breakfast is average, there are not many Yangzhou special dishes, only boiled silk, lotus root, pickles and other simple ones, and there are dumplings in the noodle stall. Anyway, I went to the park early in the morning to eat a meal, came back to rest for a while and then went to the restaurant to stroll around, which was more reasonable.
Health
The gym is on the basement level, with some simple equipment. There is also a laundry room next to it, with two washing machines and two dryers. The laundry liquid is also placed next to it and can be used at any time, which is a very good setting. There is a small lawn by the river downstairs in the hotel, with slides and swings, which can be played by children. Summary
Overall, the rooms and public areas of this hotel are very good among the Maple Leaf hotels I have stayed in, and the service is very enthusiastic and in place. Breakfast needs to be strengthened, but there are so many delicious foods outside, and you won't feel sorry if you don't eat in the hotel. The cost performance is good in the off-season, and the price is a bit scary in March.

Yangzhou One-Day Tour Guide, Live Experience! Slender West Lake/Geyuan Garden/Grand Canal
Before the lunar March arrives, Yangzhou is already filled with the colors of spring. Magnolias, plum blossoms, peach blossoms, pear blossoms, they cover the trees and the city, and you can never take enough photos. The willow trees are freshly green, at their most beautiful moment. Photos taken on: March 19th
One-day highlights: Grand Canal Museum - Dongguan Street/Geyuan Garden - Slender West Lake - Grand Canal Night Cruise
🎈Arrive at the Grand Canal Museum before 9 am, the museum opens at 9. It's quite large, with majestic architecture, and mainly three exhibition halls inside, which are history, boats, and an antique market street. It's very crowded, so you must book in advance (free of charge). Be sure to go early, we left at 10:20 and it was already very, very crowded. It takes about 1-2 hours to walk around and take pictures.
🎈After leaving the museum, take a taxi to Dongguan Street. This street is so-so, full of small shops. Have some snacks here and head straight to Geyuan Garden (located on Dongguan Street)
🎈Geyuan Garden: The ticket is 48 yuan. Inside, the bamboo forest and garden are beautiful, with a stunning magnolia tree. About 1 hour should suffice here.
🎈Slender West Lake: The daytime ticket is 100 yuan. Walk from Geyuan Garden to the south gate of Slender West Lake. The lake is extremely beautiful at this time, stay as long as you wish to enjoy the scenery. We entered from the south gate, walked north to the lake's plum grove, and exited from the west gate. It took about 2.5 hours, and there was still a large area we didn't get to, too tired to walk.
🎈Night Cruise on the Grand Canal: After exiting the west gate, go back to the hotel for a rest (Fairfield by Marriott, right across from the west gate). Then take a taxi to Dongguan Ancient Ferry. There are many food options here, have dinner, and then you can take a boat for a night cruise. We don't like boat rides, so we just walked along the riverbanks, enjoying the night view, which was also very nice.
