Sugarhouse Yangshuo - Sweet name, sweet spot!

Yangshuo Sugarhouse is a boutique style hotel 15 minutes drive from the town of Yangshuo. Nestled in the valley with an insane backdrop and right on the riverfront, this place is incredible! The swimming pool with its roman feel architecture around it is the stand out feature but they have a really nice restaurant and bar too. You can go there without needing to purchase a room for the night (luckily because it’s definitely on the pricey side!). We went for an evening and had a blast! I’m confident you will too! Id recommend going in the warmer months to make the most of the pool. Yangshuo can get a little cold in winter! #newyearadventure

Relaxing family staycation at Yangshou Sugar House

#familytravel We booked the family room in this historical sugar mill site. There was activities the whole day. There was morning taichi in the gym then we moved out to the swimming pool area to end off. After breakfast, the kids fed the resident mandarin ducks. We then went for a photoshoot around the hotel. The hotel arranged the bamboo rafting trip for us at its own private pier. We had lunch at the hotel as the food was amazingly good. Their speciality beer fish came in a huge portion, be careful of bones! In the afternoon the kids went to the kids room. There was basket hanging or hoisting some drinks and snacks up to the balcony. We went for a tour of the hotel which the staff explained each building use in details. Such a memorable stay which I will remember for life!

It's my second time staying here. I came in November this time. The hotel activities are as rich as ever. I listened to the resident artist's sharing, visited the art exhibition, and watched the New Year's Eve bonfire. The weather was great this year. It was mid-November, and I could still wear short sleeves at noon. I love every corner of this hotel, and every corner is carefully designed. It's a great place to take photos. I love it. I'll come again next year.

After opening, it has won multiple design awards and is considered a must-visit spot by countless architectural design professionals and enthusiasts. It's a popular hotel on social media, so we were full of expectations. Entering the hotel from a hidden gate by the roadside, we couldn't find the lobby. We asked someone, and they pointed to a brick house beside me: 'This is it!' Looking up, the eight characters 'Hard Work, Struggle, Frugality, Nation Building' were prominently displayed, giving a strong sense of historical vicissitudes. The white grid exterior wall of the guest room building on the right, however, pulls you back to the modern leisure atmosphere. The guest rooms at Sugar House are divided into standard rooms and villas, located on the two wings of the hotel. We stayed in a standard room, and the facilities were not much different from most five-star hotels. However, the room design concept emphasizes simplicity, elegance, and delicacy, with bright lighting that makes you feel comfortable and pleasant. Each room has a nearly square large balcony facing the green mountains, echoing the old factory buildings on the left, which are actually hotel functional facilities. A special note: everything in the mini-bar in the guest room is free except for champagne and red wine. Additionally, they provide a set of soothing sleep spray, revitalizing facial mist, lemongrass calming lotion, and other small items. Sugar House has an interesting welcome program: a 'hotel tour.' A staff member from the front desk takes guests around the main building facilities, introducing the history and current functions, such as the lobby originally being the power room of the old sugar factory, the swimming pool being the old water pump room and waterway transport channel, and the bar being the juice room and sedimentation tank. This tour departs at fixed times daily, and guests can join as they wish. In summary, my impression of Sugar House is 'small and exquisite.' Under careful design, the old factory has been transformed into a stylish leisure hotel, cleverly hidden in simplicity, with beautiful scenery everywhere, offering 360-degree photo opportunities. You can take beautiful photos from any angle—overhead, low-angle, squatting, or candid shots. However, the hotel area is small; you can see and photograph everything, even the corners, in one or two hours. Another point is that the design is a bit too strong, somewhat deliberate. Not that it's bad; many people particularly like this kind of delicacy.

During my two-day stay at the hotel, I didn't encounter sunny weather, but the usual serenity, with incense as candles, making my own incense under the butler's guidance in the workshop, was also extremely romantic and poetic. To my knowledge, the workshop offers many local handicraft experiences, and taking your own creations home is a delightful memory worth savoring from the trip. This hotel has an industrial vibe, yet it's surprisingly located amidst green mountains and rivers🏔️, and I really like the visual impact of this sense of the era. It seems to be converted into a hotel based on the architectural style, and the overall style is really photogenic! ⛱️My favorite is their outdoor swimming pool, with tall pillars on both sides, sun loungers placed around, and directly across the pool, you can see the riverside🏖️. The scenery and atmosphere are truly immersive, I really love it, and you must check it out if you come here🚗! 📸The best time for photos is during sunrise and sunset, when every casual shot looks amazing😆. Alila Yangshuo Sugar House Hotel is converted from an old sugar factory, and the architect is Vector Architects. As a member of the architecture industry, I really like the facade design of the hotel and am very interested in the renovation of old buildings in China. In addition to the appreciation of architecture and building materials, the landscaped pool greatly helped the building score points. The hotel covers a large area, there are many places to take pictures, and it took a whole afternoon to not be able to take every place well. There are many small spaces for everyone to explore and take pictures. The public space is well transformed, the interior of the room is a bit disappointing, and the room is located next to the road, and the sound insulation is not enough. The hotel has many activities, performances, bamboo raft rides, sugar making activities, rock climbing, tea and wine cooking around the stove, sugar house tour, feeding ducks and rabbits... The room rate includes five refined hotel travel photos and a self-service breakfast. I booked a fish and mutton fresh hot pot for dinner, and I need to book with the hotel two hours in advance, because the fish is freshly caught and very sweet and delicious. After dinner, I went to the 1969 bar and ordered a wine around the stove, sitting by the pool, burning firewood in the cold winter is particularly warm. The next night I went to the Sugar House Spa for a hot stone massage. The entrance design of the spa is a spiral staircase and a pool. The massage room is super large and has a cave feeling. The aesthetics of this place are out of this world! I came across this hotel whilst scrolling on Instagram and was instantly drawn to it. I knew that if I were to visit Yangshuo, then this would have to be the place I stayed at! No question about it! Everything was as pictured and exceeded my expectations! We spent 3 nights here and loved every moment. The easy access to the bamboo raft from the hotel and the fireworks display by the pool in the evening made it even more incredible.
