The public restaurant in front of the train station is run by an elderly couple. It has a strong old-fashioned atmosphere and is a good choice. From Osaka Umeda, take the JR (Osaka Loop Line) and you can reach Yamanakakei Station directly in about an hour without changing trains. It is very convenient.

Just a 25-minute drive from Kansai International Airport, Yamanakadani is located in Hannan City at the border of Wakayama Prefecture. It was an important post station on the Kishu Road during the Edo period and still retains its nostalgic streets. Since the 1960s, a large number of cherry blossoms have been planted, and now there are about a thousand Somei Yoshino and Yamazakura cherry trees. You can enjoy them both inside and outside the JR Hanwa Line Yamanakadani Station. The route along the line is a cherry blossom forest road, and at night the lights are turned on for night cherry blossom viewing. A 6-minute walk from the station will take you to Jifukuji Temple, which also has weeping cherry trees that are recommended.
