It spreads out over 130,000m2 of land size, and is popular with its stunningly beautiful landscapes of tunnels, waterfalls etc. What makes this park so famous despite its remote location is the Momiji Valley, where several hundreds of maple trees changing its colours to red and orange, which is truly mesmerizing. The vermillion coloured bridge makes the park landscape even more pictureque, and everywhere has a nice place for a picture to be taken. Besides, there are lights being installed for night viewing of maple trees so that visitors can also enjoy the night picturesque maple sceneries.

Miyahiko Park is considered a must-visit cherry blossom hotspot for the lazy traveler in Niigata. Upon arriving at Miyahiko Station via the JR Miyahiko Line, you are welcomed by a path lined with cherry blossoms right outside the station. Adjacent to the station, Miyahiko Park spans about 40,000 tsubo and is planted with thousands of cherry trees. Led by the Somei Yoshino and Yaezakura varieties, a plethora of flowers bloom, creating a picturesque scene with waterfalls, streams, hills, and red bridges that seem to be designed to complement the cherry blossoms, painting a full-frame Japanese-style picture that captivates the eyes. Moreover, in mid-April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the park transforms into the main stage for local festivals such as the Miyahiko Cherry Blossom Festival and the Miyahiko Yu-kake Festival, allowing visitors to enjoy the cherry blossoms while experiencing the rich traditional atmosphere. Additionally, a visit to the nearby Miyahiko Shrine, known for its approximately 50 rare cherry blossom varieties, followed by a cable car ride to the top of Mount Miyahiko to take in the views of Sado Island, makes for a simple yet profoundly healing one-day trip that requires no strenuous effort. Niigata Yahiko Park has many red leaves, all around the park, very spectacular. The place to go during the red leaf season is the nearby Yahiko Shrine, which has many believers. After visiting the shrine, buy amulets for good luck all year round.
