If you go to Kumamoto and are too lazy to go to Kurokawa Onsen or Mount Aso, you can go to Yachiyoza, an old Japanese theater in Yamaga Prefecture. It takes about an hour by bus from Kumamoto Bus Terminal to get there. There is a small prop shop near Yachiyoza.
