Xishan Temple is located in Xishan, Shijie, Zhongshan City, only a five minute walk from Sun Wenxi Road.
Xishan Temple has a construction area of 1,300 square meters. It was originally the place where the local township Yin Maozhen studied. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, it was converted into a Buddhist temple. It has a history of more than 400 years.
Xishan Temple was built and rebuilt in Qing Shunzhi, Kangxi, Qianlong, Jiaqing, Xianfeng and 1921. The last major refinement in recent years was in 1988, after which there were some minor repairs. Seeing the bamboo frame for maintenance, I will go there after a while, I believe there will be different faces.
After entering the Xishan Temple through the Liumian Ancient Road, first see a small square, the Cantonese people used to call it Daxu. There is a large incense burner under the square, which is convenient for the believers to use for incense. Daxiong Treasure Hall was built on the north side of the square. Before entering the treasure hall, it must pass through a small door. The top of the door is written with the four characters of Renshou Temple. This is another name for Xishan Temple.
The two sides of the main entrance are two brick walls, keeping the original color, and the top is some peaceful paintings and calligraphy works.
Xishan Temple is a courtyard-style ancient temple, sitting north to south, deep into the three, incorporating Lingnan architectural features, but retaining the Ming Dynasty temple architectural style, in addition to the golden lacquer wood carving is more eye-catching, the color of the building is more implicit, abandon The cheesy style of red and purple.
In addition to Guanyin Temple, Daxiong Hall and Dizang Hall, Liuzu Hall, and Tower Hall are all relatively spectacular buildings. It takes about half an hour to tour the entire temple.

Zen Serenity, Tranquil West Mountain
Zhongshan Xishan Temple, a serene place hidden among the mountains, attracts countless visitors with its profound Buddhist heritage and beautiful natural scenery. The temple's architecture is ancient and solemn, with eaves and corners that reveal the passage of time. Upon entering, the sound of chanting surrounds you, bringing peace to the mind. The incense in front of the temple conveys the sincere prayers of the people, while the surrounding lush mountains offer a sense of natural tranquility and harmony. Cultivating oneself here not only cleanses the mind but also provides enlightenment from Buddhist wisdom. Whether worshiping or sightseeing, Xishan Temple offers a spiritual journey that leaves a lasting impression.

| Zhongshan, a city in the spotlight (with city walk guide).
||In the past decade, Zhongshan has been one of the cities in Guangdong that I visit most frequently. It has typical Lingnan culture, diverse cuisine, and a leisurely pace of life, which makes me feel that it is really livable.
Most of the time, it is not crowded here, but with the recent opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, it seems that the city has finally ushered in its "highlight moment."
In addition to the newly opened shopping malls and increasingly mature attractions, the familiar but quiet shops in the past have suddenly become popular.
With the arrival of autumn, I came to Zhongshan again and walked along the walking route I have always liked. I felt both familiar and surprised.
🚶Walking route: Minsheng Road - Sunwen Middle Road - Taiping Road - Hubin Road
① Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park (not big, under maintenance)
② Zhongshan Museum (P6, recommended, newly built but crowded)
③ Xishan Temple (P3, recommended, with a century-old camphor tree and an old library)
④ Yixian Lake (P5, 12, recommended, relaxing and comfortable in the sun)
😋Some food
① Suxi Coffee (P7, good coffee and cultural and creative products, not many people before🤣)
② Aiqun Restaurant (P8, traditional tea house atmosphere, but the location is slightly off and there are many people)
③ Huashenghang (P9, authentic tortoise jelly)
④ Shunyouji (P10, simple Cantonese fast food, porridge, rice, and noodles are all available)

With the development of transportation, people began to pour in, breaking the tranquility of many years. But it is worth seeing this treasure city get more attention and experience!
The city is still adapting, so be more inclusive and enjoy it!

💡: There are many people on holidays, especially in the old streets, so it is recommended to walk

Xishan Temple in Zhongshan, a serene spot amidst the hustle and bustle
Located in the central area of Zhongshan City, Xishan, it was originally built during the Ming Dynasty. Initially, it served as a reading place for the Ming Dynasty local scholar Mao Kezhen, and was later converted into a temple. It has undergone multiple expansions and renovations during the Qing Dynasty's Shunzhi, Kangxi, Qianlong, Jiaqing, Xianfeng periods, as well as in the 10th year of the Republic of China (1921) and in 1988. A quiet Buddhist retreat in the midst of a commercial street.
