Historic buildings
Located on the Golden Mountain on the south bank of Xinjiang River in Xinzhou District, Shangrao City, it is one of the four ancient academies in Jiangxi. Founded in the 33rd year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1694), it was formerly known as Qujiang Academy. In the eighth year of Qianlong's reign (1743), a building was built in Houshan to worship Zhu Xi, and the name was changed to "Ziyang Academy". In the forty-sixth year of Qianlong (1781), it was called "Xinjiang Academy". The courtyard is surrounded by greenery, and the four-cornered Kuixing Pavilion standing on the Zhongling Terrace is carved with beams and painted buildings, with flower windows and blue tiles, and it is antique. Climbing the pavilion can overlook the Xinjiang River and the Lingshan Mountain in the distance, giving people a good enjoyment. In front of Zhongling Terrace, there are still ancient buildings such as Chunfeng Pavilion, Yida Pavilion, Xixiu Pavilion, and Rixin Bookstore. Although the Yile Hall has been destroyed, the stone tablet and rockery in front of the hall are still intact.
