Xijia Pond is located at the southern foot of Fenghuang Mountain, about 5 kilometers south of Xiangyang City, also known as Gaoyang Pond. Hou Xiyu of Xiangyang, following the method of the Yueguo doctor Fan Li in the late Spring and Autumn Period, built an earth embankment 60 steps long and 40 steps wide at the foot of Baima Mountain, and drew Baima Spring water to build a pond to raise fish. Xijiachi has been a tourist attraction in the southern suburbs of Xiangyang since the Han and Jin Dynasties. It has a history of more than 1,900 years. During the Yongjia period of the Western Jin Dynasty, the general of Zhennan, Shanjian, guarded Xiangyang. He often feasted here and got drunk, so he was called "Gaoyang drunkards", so there was the Gaoyang Pool Pavilion. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Xi Chichi, a descendant of Xi Yu, studied in this lake, wrote history in the pavilion, and left behind the masterpiece "Han Jin Spring and Autumn", which became a famous historian for later generations, and made the Xi family Chi Yi famous. After the Jin Dynasty, the Xijia Pool was once abandoned. It was repaired during the Baoqing period of Jiading in the Southern Song Dynasty. During the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, Nie Xian, the deputy envoy of Fumin, rebuilt it. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Jiang Hui, the deputy envoy, also built the ancestral halls of Fei Chiu Tooth and Du Fu. Later, it was rebuilt and repaired many times. There are Fengquan Pavilion, Furong Terrace and Xiyu Tomb beside the pool. Surrounded by mountains, pines and cypresses, flowing water, pavilions, flowers and birds, the scenery is quiet. Since ancient times, poets and poets have often come here to sing poetry and compose poems, and now many tourists come here to visit the Baima Spring, fish ponds, pavilions and other landscapes.
