the trip was around the niutoushan mountain area. we went on a cold, rainy day but it was still worth our time. the hiking trail consists of beautiful water falls, and pools of clear water. the are areas with steep steps but the sites are very much worth it. there’s a glass bride and various viewing points to overlook the beautiful mountains and greenery all around the area. this area also has a temple high up at the peak of the mountain ⛰. it was generally quiet, and peaceful and there are many spots to capture great photos. Getting There - You can either take the train from Shanghai to Wuyi or a car/bus. 🚄 Attractions - Wuyi had amazing hiking trails and many waterfalls. 🥾 It was a wet and cold morning but nothing was going to stop me from a little hiking. The hike has many stairs and it’s fairly safe. The views are amazing and really breathe taking. ⛰ When you finally reach the top you can see the view from a glass bridge, if you’re looking to leave escape the big City this is the perfect place to get a little reboot. 🌉 I would suggest going with a tour group to do the hike or with a group that you see at the location. We had a wonderful time at Tanfeng Hot Spring Resort. Having our own private soaking tub was especially nice. We used it twice a day! The mattress and comforter provided a great night’s sleep. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and the resort was relatively empty, it was such a nice change of pace from Shanghai!! We took the resort shuttle to the hot springs every day, it is about 2 minutes by shuttle or 8 minutes on foot. It was a perfect getaway and we will return. #holidayvacation#merryxmas

It is really relaxing to come here to soak in the hot spring~ The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room allow you to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window in your spare time. Transportation: Take a high-speed train from Hangzhou East Railway Station to Wuyi North Railway Station, which takes about an hour. After getting off the train, drive for another hour and a half to reach Niutoushan National Forest Park. If you choose to drive, it will take about three and a half hours. Dining recommendations: At lunchtime, we accidentally found a restaurant in Wuyi County that was both affordable and delicious. Please see the attached picture for the specific location. Accommodation experience: We chose to stay at Niutoushan Meng Hot Spring Hotel at night. But to be honest, the hotel facilities are a bit old, and the check-in experience is average. The hot spring area is open from 6 pm to 11 pm. We wanted to relax, but the time was limited. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel serves dinner until 8 pm (the specific time depends on the number of guests). As for breakfast, except for a few stir-fried dishes, most of the other dishes are semi-finished products heated up, and the taste is average. Niutoushan highlights: Niutoushan National Forest Park has beautiful scenery, and the Golden Lock Bridge is built between the cliffs. Those who are afraid of heights need to muster up the courage to move forward because there is an abyss under the bridge. Continue upwards, and you will find the Yixiantian Scenic Spot, where more than 300 steps are almost vertical, which is quite exciting. In addition, there is a glass plank road for tourists to challenge, but I didn't experience it because I was afraid of heights. The Taoist temple on the top of the mountain is still under construction, and the distant mountains are covered with snow, which is very beautiful. The way down the mountain: We chose a different route down the mountain, with clear streams and picturesque mountain views along the way. Walking between the cliffs, I was always on edge. There are fewer tourists in winter, and it is recommended that children under 6 years old go with caution and do what they can. Summary: Although there are some shortcomings in accommodation and dining, the natural scenery of Niutoushan National Forest Park is still fascinating.
