Honey lake is an abandoned theme park in Shenzhen, opened in 1985 and closed in 2011 the park was superseded by happy valley them park also in Shenzhen, many of the rides were old and needed refurbishment but the park went out of business. The park has slowly been scrapped over the years and to this day the only remaining part is the over water rollercoaster in the middle of Xiangmi Lake, and part of the park entrance with a disney castle like aesthetic. The abandoned theme park rides were really creepy, kind of giving of a dystopian vibe. When i visited the large ferris wheel was still there, and i was able to climb up to the middle part of the wheel to get some good pictures, however i was quickly asked to leave by security that arrived. You can no longer access any part of the park as it is all fenced off and there are security posts. The entire area will soon be redeveloped into an urban park with walkways and large mall and hotel looking buildings around the lake. #themeparks #lakes #urbex #abandoned
