Xia Mei Ancient Residence~~ The starting point of the Wanli Tea Road
The starting point of Jin merchants' tea trade🍵—Xia Mei Village, Wuyishan.
The entrance fee is 45 yuan per person, including a tour guide. It is ten kilometers away from Sangu Resort. The preservation is relatively good, and local villagers still live there. Almost every household grows tea, making it somewhat similar to Jiangnan water towns like Wuzhen and Xitang. One of the most important buildings is the Zou Family Ancestral Hall, which is well-preserved and shows that this family's taste is relatively high.
Very photogenic, worth a visit.

Exploring the ancient Mei Village, silent in the river of history
In 2023, my organization arranged a trip to Wuyi Mountain in Fujian for a restorative outing. During our free time, I visited the ancient Mei Village near Wuyi Mountain with a few colleagues. This place preserves a large number of architectural structures from the Ming and Qing dynasties in northern Fujian, including a long corridor built along the river, imposing gate towers, buildings with carved beams and painted rafters, and the very down-to-earth earthen walls. Here, one can contemplate the history of Wuyi rock tea being sold to Europe and Southeast Asia through the thousands of miles of the Tea Horse Road. You can also see peculiar doorways and learn that they were once used by wealthy families to measure the figures of prospective brides. It's worth mentioning that as long as you purchase a ticket to the ancient Mei Village, no matter the number of visitors, the scenic area will arrange for local guides to lead the tour and narrate the stories behind each ancient building.

Fujian Tourism|In Wuyi Mountain, you can really feel the beautiful ancient villages
|In Wuyi Mountain, you can really feel the beautiful ancient villages.
😍When it comes to Wuyi Mountain, what people may remember most is the beautiful mountains and waters here. In fact, in addition to visiting those natural scenic spots, the ancient residential buildings in XiaMei are also worth seeing.
🏠XiaMei ancient residential buildings are part of the Wuyi Mountain World Cultural Heritage in Fujian Province. It is only 8 kilometers away from the national tourism resort. As soon as you enter the ancient streets, wells, docks, buildings, houses, and markets of XiaMei Village, coupled with the simple and ancient local customs, it seems to place me in the Jiangnan water town.
📸Walking in the ancient street, you can see young men and women sketching from time to time, full of literary atmosphere. The strong feelings of the ancient town, quiet and beautiful, low-key and niche, have not been eroded by commercialization, satisfying my dreamy impression of the ancient town.
🍵If time permits, you can also taste a good cup of tea in the old house, cross time and space, and feel the deep cultural heritage, and understand the stories and years that have happened here.

Wuyishan - Xiaomei Ancient Residence, a good place to cultivate oneself!
Xiaomei Ancient Village is the tea trade market of Wuyishan in the Qing Dynasty, and also the starting point of the Tea Road of Thousands of Miles. There are still the ruins of the Qing Dynasty tea market trade water transport Jinglong Wharf and Tea Market Street, tea trade cultural relics, and Qing Dynasty tea merchant residential buildings.
According to historical records, Wuyi Tea Market gathers Chong'an (now Wuyishan City) and Xiaomei. At its peak, 300 rafts were transported daily. The Jin merchant Chang's and Xiaomei Wu's tea merchants jointly opened Jinglong Tea House. Jinglong Wharf was busy all day, swallowing the endless goods of the tea market, and Xiaomei became the important town of tea foreign trade in the Qing Dynasty. The tea road stretching for thousands of miles, starting from Wuyishan, runs through the Eurasian continent, reaching St. Petersburg, Russia, becoming the starting point of the land and sea tea road, leaving a brilliant history of Wuyi tea foreign trade.

A small stall owner on the side of the road, seeing me holding a camera, I must take a picture of his work. He told me that these things were done by him personally.
Jiangsu TV station in Xia Mei shooting TV series "Fan Zhongyan" is here to view. The lower Meigu residence was first publicized as a location in a TV series.
The ancient village in the back light, it seems to be covered with a layer of gold my coat. There are very few tourists in the village. Apart from our group of four people, we can hardly see foreign tourists and are very quiet.
The pets in the village are lazy to look at others, for fear of being disturbed.
Drinking Hall is also a ancestral hall, beautifully embossed stone carvings, comparable to the Zou's ancestral hall.
Xi Shui is also a very famous house in the village. After wearing this arch, you can go to the room after a small walkway.
This is a door that was used to choose a daughter-in-law. In ancient times, I believed in many children and many blessings, so it is a little bit that women can give birth. The breast and fat buttocks are the best physical features, and the more consistent with this door, the greater the chance of being selected.
