Beijing Tour 13: Sculptures in Xiadu Park, Yanqing.
Xiadu Park in Yanqing was formerly the old river course of Gui River, and was first built in 1995. It was built by digging a lake in the upper reaches of Gui River flowing through Yanqing City. It echoes with Guichuan Square. The park covers a total area of 3,500 mu, including 1,000 mu of water area, and is divided into two lakes, east and west, by Gui River Bridge. The east lake is called East Lake, and the west lake is called Lotus Lake.
On August 15, 2001, the largest theme sculpture park in China was completed in Xiadu Park. This sculpture exhibition invited famous sculptors from nine countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa, as well as famous domestic sculptors. 50 sculptures created by 51 Chinese and foreign sculptors were permanently preserved in Xiadu Park for the world to enjoy. The works use stone and metal materials to express their understanding of "life and nature" through figurative or abstract art forms.
