Daxuexiang Mosque is located in Daxuexiang, Lianhu District, Xi'an City. It is also called Xida Temple because it is located in the west of Huajuexiang Mosque. Compared with the hustle and bustle of the Huajue Lane Grand Mosque, it is more quiet and peaceful. In fact, it is the oldest mosque in Xi'an. According to legend, this mosque was built by Yuchi Gong, the founding general of the Tang Dynasty in 684 AD, and according to the existing stone tablets in the temple, the construction date was the first year of Tang Shenlong (705). The mosque consists of Zhaobi, Shifang, gate, three courtyards, heart-saving pavilion, north-south hall, stele pavilion, imam's fasting, bathing room, main hall of worship and other buildings. The words "Chijian Luci" are engraved on the four pillars and three stone arches facing the street outside the gate. One of the main buildings, the Shaanxi Pavilion, is said to have been built in the Song Dynasty. When Zheng He went to the West for the fourth time in the Ming Dynasty, Hassan, the head teacher of the mosque, accompanied him, and helped Zheng He to save himself from danger many times. So Zheng He presided over the overhaul. There is the famous "Zheng He Stele" in the South Stele Pavilion at the back, that is, "Rebuild Qingjing Temple Stele", which is about this matter. It is said that the "Bunker Building" in the temple is a landmark building specially presided over by Zheng He. At the door of the main hall of worship hangs a plaque of "Paiyan Tianfang" written by Cixi. There are flower patterns around the walls of the hall.
