Dawenkou Site - Visit the Dawenkou Site Museum in Tai'an, Shandong.
We drove to Tai'an to climb Mount Tai, taking the Beijing-Taipei Expressway all the way. My friend mentioned that we would pass by Dawenkou when we were navigating, and I had heard of the Dawenkou Site Museum, so we got off the expressway and headed straight to the museum. It is a relatively unknown museum in Tai'an, and many people don't know that it houses red pottery animal-shaped pots, octagonal star-patterned painted pottery dou, red pottery armor, painted pottery drums, painted pottery back pots, painted pottery cauldrons, and other pottery. Red pottery and gray pottery are the most common, with black pottery, white pottery, and a small amount of painted pottery. The pottery comes in various shapes, such as ding, dou, pots, and he. The museum also displays the excavation process of the Dawenkou Site.
We spent too much time playing, and it was already dark when we got off the expressway at Tai'an West, so we chose the nearest hotel to stay in, Tai'an Taiyue Wyndham Hotel, to recharge for the next day's trip to Mount Tai.
First of all, the hotel check-in was very fast. Because the hotel is very large, the hotel staff even took us directly to the elevator door, which was really thoughtful. When we checked in, we also mentioned that we were going to climb Mount Tai the next day, and the receptionist kindly told us the distance to each visitor center and the way to climb the mountain.
The most noteworthy thing is that the hotel has a special climbing energy pack and trekking poles, so you don't have to worry about being hungry when climbing. I will stay here again when I drive through Tai'an in the future.
