Visit the Watertown in Midwinter
I had heard about Pegasus Watertown in Jiangyin, Wuxi, which is known as the "Venice of China", but I had never been there. So I chose Jiangyin as the destination for my first trip of the new year. It is very convenient to travel from Shanghai. You can take a high-speed train to Jiangyin Station, and then take a bus directly to Pegasus Watertown.
Heilan Pegasus Watertown is located at the southern end of Xinqiao Town, Jiangyin City. It is a horse culture tourism complex that integrates equestrian training, performances, competitions, and leisure vacations. It includes an equestrian performance hall, a horse culture museum, the Heilan Art Museum, and other entertainment and experience projects. The architectural style of the Watertown is modeled after the Italian city of Venice, with extensive use of water elements to create a unique landscape of "water in the city, city in the water". Today, Heilan Pegasus Watertown has become a popular destination for internet celebrities due to its European-style architecture.
When you arrive at Heilan Pegasus Watertown, it feels like stepping into a European fairy tale. In front of you, there are European-style buildings with spires, carvings, and brilliant colors, which are romantic and elegant. The clear lake water is like a huge mirror, reflecting the buildings, sky, and tourists, making it difficult to distinguish between reality and illusion. Sitting on a gondola, the boatman hums an Italian tune and paddles leisurely. The boat moves slowly, the water ripples around, and the buildings on both sides seem to be slowly retreating, making people intoxicated. Entering the Horse Culture Museum is like starting a cross-time and space journey of horse culture. From ancient horse gear to modern horse racing equipment, from lifelike horse sculptures to precious horse breed introductions, every step allows you to touch the deep emotional bond between humans and horses. As night falls, the entire Watertown is lit up, and the music fountain in the square makes a stunning appearance. The colorful lights and water columns dance together, changing with the rhythm of the music, creating a colorful and beautiful scene. Heilan Pegasus Watertown is not only a visual feast but also a romantic haven for the soul, making people linger and reluctant to leave.
