Wabi-sabi style homestay | In the valley ⛰️ for those who love quiet drinking|||The first short trip in 2025, a wabi-sabi style homestay around Wuhan. Originally planned to come with friends to celebrate my birthday at the end of November, booked a room a few months in advance, but plans couldn't keep up with changes, because of family surgery, the time changed again and again. However, my understanding of travel is that there is no need to be impatient, and you should move forward leisurely. The destination is important, but more importantly, the unknown and anticipation of the journey. Self-driving travel is not about rushing, checking in at many attractions, or storing countless photos in the camera, nor is it about showing off your experiences on social networks. The meaning of travel lies in stepping on those paths that have never been set foot on, gazing at those sceneries that have never been appreciated, and experiencing those customs and cultures that have never been experienced. 👉Some tips for those who want to go: 1️⃣Travel time: Wuhan—Huangpi Mulan Mountain (self-driving takes about 1 hour, the mountain road is winding and narrow, drive safely) 2️⃣Room type: Yuehe Linquan Magnolia (the largest room type, suitable for two people, a family of three with children under 10 years old is appropriate) ·With front and back yard balconies ·With floor heating ·Sofa 🛋＋1.8*2.0 bed 🛏＋welcome fruit (bring your own wine) ·Fresh air system ·Refrigerator (free: Perrier + Sprite) ·Vinyl record player (you can choose records at the front desk) 3️⃣Dining: Free dinner on the day of check-in + breakfast the next day If you want a richer dinner, you need to make an appointment in advance and communicate the menu. The chef is busy, we didn't know we could order, so we only ate the free hot pot, which was not enough. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are blended in equal proportions and aged in high-quality French small oak barrels for 14 months. Paired with a slow-cooked old duck hot pot, it's refreshing! The dry-fried lotus root shreds were served late and not finished, so I reluctantly packed them back to the room to continue drinking~ On a refreshing night, I read a novel, listened to the music from the film, raised my glass, and this is the moment that makes life feel beautiful and worthwhile!

You can go hiking in spring, stream tracing in summer, enjoy the golden leaves in autumn, and watch the snow in winter. There are also outdoor movies, bonfire parties, and sunsets and starry skies on the mountain top. Whether you're traveling with family or friends, you can enjoy a great time. You must try stream tracing and watching the sunset on the mountain top, which are indescribably beautiful. Just ask the butler for directions. 🍱 Food: The kitchen uses farm ingredients, and you can enjoy delicious food by booking in advance. 🖼Environment of the homestay: Hidden in the ancient and serene Mulan Mountain forest, with a 99% forest coverage rate, it is far from the hustle and bustle of the world, with no settlements within a 3-kilometer radius. Here, the chirping of birds is the loudest 'noise'. 🛏Room facilities: There are a total of eight guest rooms, each with a mountain view. The room design is simple and rustic, equipped with high-end white ash solid wood furniture and a full-house Xiaomi smart home system. There are also facilities such as a restaurant and a tea room to enrich the guests' stay. ⏳Recommended activities: Mulan Mountain is one of the high peaks on the southern slope of the Dabie Mountains and is one of the few places where Buddhism and Taoism coexist. Its sunsets and evening glows are the most famous. Dayu Bay, a village of the Yu family dating back to the Hongwu years of the Ming Dynasty, has well-preserved buildings. The old opium dens and cockfighting arenas can still be vaguely seen. You can enjoy shadow puppetry by master craftsmen and wear Hanfu to check in and make tea around the stove. 📝Tips: Pet-friendly, pets are allowed.

The top of the mountain is Mulan Mountain's Golden Summit, offering a panoramic view of the scenery below. 🌄Travel Tips: You can hike and trek next to the homestay; the tea mountain scenery is lovely but be cautious for safety. The homestay itself is very photogenic, with its ancient well and paths exuding a traditional Chinese atmosphere, and the healing room's large floor-to-ceiling windows offer a breathtaking view of the forest! The mountain is cool in summer, making it an ideal spot to escape the heat! 🏨Accommodation Tips: The forest sound therapy at the homestay will immerse you deeper into nature, listening to the breath of the forest, and ensuring a great quality of sleep! The food is all healthy and nutritious, sourced from the surrounding woods, and breakfast is quite rich. 💗Other tips: The homestay is located on Mulan Mountain, which is convenient for self-driving from Wuhan. The homestay has limited rooms, so be sure to book in advance during holidays.

Experience the stunning sunrise at Mulan Mountain. This must be the pinnacle of homestays in Wuhan at the moment, with a design that rivals the top brands in Moganshan. The entire homestay is enveloped by the forest, and as you drive up from the base of the mountain, a white house comes into view, strikingly prominent and exuding a sense of luxury, giving one the illusion of being in Northern Europe. 🌿The attention to detail in the homestay is meticulous, with terrazzo flooring, bamboo ceilings and partitions, and micro-cement walls. All materials are close to nature, and the balance between decoration and negative space is just right, as mastered by the designer. Each indoor space connects with the outside forest through bold windows and skylights, creating an immersive forest experience even from within. 💦The swimming pool is really a big hit, although not large, it looks great in photos. It is recommended to bring a drone when visiting, as it makes for the best shots. The housekeeper mentioned that the pool is temperature-controlled and can be used in spring and autumn. 🌅The biggest surprise of the homestay is the hill behind it. Passing through the back of the white house, there is a hiking trail made entirely of gravel and fir wood, blending seamlessly with nature and showing no signs of human interference. A two-minute walk takes you to a glass house, where the view suddenly opens up, and you can clearly see the distant mountains, rivers, and lakes. In the morning, there is a stunning sunrise, but you have to get up quite early. At night, this place turns into a forest bar, with cocktails and music, and the homestay's housekeeper plays the guitar wonderfully. 🏕There are also several tent rooms on the mountain, with an Indian style, quite distinctive. The tent rooms all come with their own bathrooms, and the facilities are very complete. However, since Mulan Mountain is a forest conservation area, open fires are not allowed, otherwise, it would be great to have a barbecue in front of the tent. 🏘The homestay's guest room configuration is also top-notch, considered top-tier in the domestic homestay industry. They are equipped with Dyson hairdryers, Husky refrigerators, Duravit and Hansgrohe sanitary ware, Delonghi kettles, and so on. Each room also comes with a soaking pool or bathtub. The most surprising is the mattress, which is the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a homestay, reportedly the same model used by the Ritz-Carlton. The owner really spares no expense👍 📻Each guest room in the homestay is equipped with a record player, and guests can choose records at the front desk upon check-in and take them to their rooms to listen to, which adds a sense of ceremony. ☘️Staying at the homestay, you can climb Mulan Mountain, a half-hour walk or a 5-minute drive to the Golden Summit of Mulan Mountain, where the sunset is also incredibly beautiful. You can also take a boat trip on Mulan Lake, visit the ancient village of Dayu Bay, and so on, all within a 20-minute drive. The homestay also has its own camp at the foot of the mountain, a fifteen-minute drive away, called One Habitat, where you can enjoy barbecue, singing, and many parent-child amusement projects.
