🎒Hiking tips
1. The whole route is a dirt road with no supplies, so bring enough water and food.

Urban Wilderness
Wuguishan (五桂山) in Zhongshan is a huge forested area surrounding several reservoirs, of which the largest is the picturesque Changjiang Reservoir.
The forest is only a short distance from Zhongshan's urban centre and is easily accessible from several places. There are numerous hiking trails criss-crossing the park, but the most popular walk from the north side is to Lion's Head Mountain (狮头山), which offers the best view of the Changjiang Reservoir, as well as Zhongshan's east district. It's not a long walk (it should take most people 30-45 minutes) but it is steep and rough in places, so wear sturdy footwear and bring enough water.
Make sure to carry out your trash and don't pollute the reservoir!
Although Wuguishan is surrounded by dense urbanisation, it feels like a genuine wilderness. Highly recommended for anyone in the area who needs a nature break.

• By car: Navigate to Shuanghe Mountain Village in Zhongshan. The drive from Guangzhou takes just 1.5 hours.
• By public transport: Take the subway to Wuguishan Industrial Zone (bus stop). The route starts and ends here, and is about 10 km long.

• Xikengwei Route: Pass through Shuanghe Mountain - Duomingpo - Metasequoia - Xikengwei - Xiaoyao Valley. The route is about 12 km long.
• Difficulty: Low difficulty, flat roads, suitable for healthy people aged 6-60.

Shitou Shan|The Best View of reservoir
Shitou Shan of 305m height, locates at the north of Wuguishan（五桂山）, Zhongshan City. It's very close to Zhongshan downtown, easily reach. It's not difficult to hike at all, begins with around 200 m paved stairs, then will get into the dirt path, which is very clear and lovely. After about 1 hour walk, we will arrive the mountai top to enjoy the best and beautiful view of Changjiang Resevoir. Many locals hike there at weekends.
