Come to Beijing to see the snow on Friday
Six top snow-viewing spots:
1. The Forbidden City: Majestic and solemn beauty
White snow and jade dust adorn the red walls, glazed golden roofs covered with snowy blossoms. Snow in the Forbidden City is the pinnacle of Chinese aesthetic snow scenes, stunning beyond words!
Snow falls on the Forbidden City, every step a picturesque scene. Snow accumulates on the window lattices of the Palace of Heavenly Purity, the stone steps of the Hall of Mental Cultivation are covered in silver, ancient pines in the Imperial Garden transform into snowy branches, and the water halls and corridor bridges of the Palace of Prolonging Happiness quietly listen to the sound of snow.
Standing in front of the Hall of Supreme Harmony and looking back, the Five Phoenix Tower in the flying snow looks like a palace in the sky, the unfrozen green waves of the Golden Water River reflect the snowy shadows, and the light jingling of ridge beast bells can be heard in the corridor wind.
Occasionally, palace cats walk through the snow, leaving a string of plum blossom prints on the snow.
Photography tips:
① It’s hard to capture the Forbidden City without people; try walking along the side halls on both sides, the West Six Palaces, East Six Palaces, and Cining Palace have fewer people. Take photos quickly wherever there’s no one; even a spot without people makes for great shots!
② Wearing traditional Chinese clothing stands out beautifully against the red walls and white snow.
③ The area around the Hall of Supreme Harmony is easy to get great shots; it’s recommended to stay longer. Don’t miss the sunset snow scene at the corner towers, where light and shadow intertwine beautifully.
④ Raise your shooting angle; red walls, bare branches, flying birds, and sunsets are all great photo elements.
2. Jingshan Park: Overlooking the entire snow-covered Beijing city, better to shoot the day after snowfall
Standing atop Jingshan Hill, overlooking the whole city of Beijing, snowflakes gently cover ancient trees and pavilions, turning this historic park into a silver-white dreamland.
3. Summer Palace: A moving ink painting scroll
Every scene in the Summer Palace is picturesque, and after snow, it transforms into a moving ink painting scroll. The surface of Kunming Lake is covered with thin ice, and Longevity Hill looks even more majestic under the snow.
Walking under the Long Corridor, every step echoes history, feeling the unique tranquility and elegance of the imperial garden.
4. Temple of Heaven Park: Quiet, solemn beauty; great for snow portraits
Once it snows, the Temple of Heaven becomes a jade tower palace. Pure white snowflakes fall gently, covering the triple-eaved Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the blue-tiled golden roof of the Imperial Vault of Heaven, and the white marble railings of the Circular Mound Altar with a thick layer of snow.
The usually solemn buildings gain a touch of liveliness and gentleness under the snow, like a natural ink painting, each frame stunning beyond words.
Strolling on the Danbi Bridge, the crunch of snow underfoot can be heard. Red walls reflect the snow, golden glazed tiles and pure white snow intertwine, the vivid color contrast immerses you in the ancient charm and snowy scene.
The vermilion palace walls stretch windingly, snow piles up like mountains at the corners. Reach out to catch a snowflake and watch it slowly melt in your palm, like holding a piece of fleeting time.
5. Universal Studios: Crossing the icy snow magic barrier
Universal Studios has added a heavy snow buff, it’s so beautiful! It’s like a movie come to life, the snowy Hogsmeade is recreated! Have a cup of hot butterbeer and cross the icy snow magic barrier!
6. Badaling Great Wall: Magnificent and grand, a snowy dragon soaring
Badaling Great Wall, northern scenery, a thousand miles of icy peaks, ten thousand miles of snow drifting. The limited icy Great Wall and stunning rime frost make every photo a masterpiece!
