Aqua Toto Gifu, the world's freshwater fish aquarium, is one of the world's largest dedicated freshwater fish aquariums. The permanent exhibition on the 4th floor stretches from the source of the Nagara River to rivers around the world, displaying and recreating the habitats of aquatic organisms such as fish, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. The Japanese native ecological area in the museum reproduces the ecology of the Nagara River, exhibiting fish such as sakura salmon and sweetfish, as well as the landscape of the mountains and pond ecology; the world's freshwater basin area presents the Mekong River, Congo River, Amazon River and other basin creatures, such as Mekong giant catfish, electric catfish, and giant arapaima. There are feeding experiences, popular science lectures and workshops, as well as special theme exhibitions, supporting catering, shopping and other services, which have both educational, scientific research and protection significance.
