The owner helped carry our luggage to our room - we booked the cinematic vintage-style twin room with 180° floor-to-ceiling windows that first greet you with views of the sparkling river. Two differently styled soft beds offer two distinct experiences, and from the balcony, you can see the small river beside the guesthouse. Just gazing at the scenery doing nothing, I suddenly understood the ancient Chinese saying about "stealing half a day of leisure from life." As the sunset gilds the river with gold, we toast while soaking in the white porcelain bathtub by the window. As for the location, it's near the Wangkou Scenic Area in Wuyuan, just a 200m walk to the entrance, where you can experience the traditional culture of ancient Huizhou. The rapeseed flowers are in full bloom now, and you can see them from the windows of the homestay, a field of cute little yellow flowers. When dawn's light finally pierced the glass windows, I felt a pang of regret at having to leave. After all, who could resist the allure of Gothic aesthetics?
