Surrounded by lush greenery of Telok Blangah Hill, the Alkaff Mansion houses a variety of restaurants for different types of dining with the building being in European style architecture. One of the restaurants it houses is the Wildseed Café. Wildseed Café offers brunch and café food. The café is pet-friendly and has a pretty outdoor conservatory. We were there for an afternoon tea session on a hot Saturday afternoon so even though we were seated indoors and not at the conservatory, we were still okay with our seats. The interiors are also consistent with the building’s architectural style so it’s just as nice inside. Aside from the afternoon tea tiered set, there were also other food you can order, unlike other cafes or restaurants where only the afternoon tea set is available. The set was just okay but affordable. After eating, we went around the vicinity of the mansion and took pictures as there are lots of picture-taking spots. Outside the mansion, we walked around the hill as the ambiance was very relaxing and peaceful. Imagine yourself sipping tea, bites of macarons, sliced cake and a whole range of pastries. They have outdoor garden sitting area and they have indoor air conditioned sitting area. Definitely an instagramable place. The crowds are there on the weekends as early as 9am. The smoothies are delish here. You can ask the restaurant server for recommendations. When the place gets a little bit crowded, there will be a waiting line and you need to wait to be seated. Indoors or outdoors, this place is gorgeous inside out unlike those hypocritical human beings that are nice to your face and backstabs you at their own leisure....hahahaha peace ✌️ #musteat

Lush trees and other greenery surround it. It’s ambiance gives off a calming vibe which makes it a great venue to meet family or friends if you want to escape the busy restaurants or nightlife in the city. Currently, it has three dining options in it’s vicinity - al fresco terrace dining at TXA Gastrobar, Wildseed Cafe at it’s ground level and UNA at it’s second floor. I learned online it’s a historic mansion, built since 1918 but then eventually developed into a dining establishment. There are several sites online (e.g. Wikipedia, Alkaff, etc) which details it’s rich history - how it came to be what it was now from being a private residence and having risen from a state of disrepair post-World War 2 after being sold off. I was treated to a lunch at Wildseed Cafe. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I noticed that most of patrons who have pets stay outdoors (yes, they are a pet-friendly cafe). There were a lot of food & drink items to choose from! We were only two so we settled for truffle mayonnaise curly fries for appetizer, pasta dishes as mains, fresh calamansi juice for drinks, tiramisu & brownie for sweets and mocha & salted caramel latte to end our meal. Mains ordered were superb - but if you are a light eater, you may have to share ;) Their tiramisu, for me, lacks a bit of a “punch” & the texture of their brownie can be improved. Surprisingly, their coffee was great!!! Given the taste and serving portion of their food, for me, it’s great value for money. This is one of my favourite places to eat in singapore. The food is always on point, and the staff couldn’t be sweeter. They offer a great selection, from super fluffy and light smoothie bowls to delicious eggs and protein bowls. I’ve even created my own signature breakfast by swapping the bacon for broccoli and the hollandaise for ricotta cream – switch the sourdough to rye bread, (which is my absolute favorite) #singaporetrip #thingstodo #afternoonteatime

#singaporetrip Such a beautiful cafe. There are an inside air conditioned are, outdoor on the patio which is so pretty. But the prettiest of all is this outdoor romantic floral canopy area. Service staff accidentally flipped the bacon on one of us and they sent us a lovely strawberry cake. Perfect place for dates and nice brunch. Order the BIG Pan Breakkie and the chilli crab linguine….awesome 🥰🥰🥰

#wheretogo We spotted Alkaff Mansion while doing our walking trail. It is colonial bungalow built by the prominent Alkaff family in 1918. This historic building now houses wildseed café and we saw many people were having brunch and coffee there. The ambience looked wonderful, it has beautiful outdoor lawn with a gazebo, and European-styled fountains.
