Must go White sand beach in Northern Taiwan
Baishawan Beach, also known as "White Sands Beach," is a popular destination located in the Taipei City, Taiwan. It is known for its white sandy beach and crystal clear waters, making it a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing during the summer months.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as swimming, sunbathing, windsurfing, and parasailing. The beach also has a bike path that runs along the coast, offering a great way to explore the area. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes, and food stands near the beach where visitors can grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink.
The beach is surrounded by beautiful mountains, which can be climbed and hiked. The surrounding area is also home to many scenic spots such as the Baishawan Scenic Area, the Baishawan Temple, and the Baishawan Cliff.
Overall, Baishawan Beach is a great place to visit for those who want to enjoy a day at the beach while also taking in the beautiful natural scenery of Taiwan. It's a perfect place to take a break from the busy city and enjoy some relaxation and fun in the sun.

Tranquil and Scenic
#dayatthebeach
Baishawan Beach, located between Tamsui and Jinshan on Taiwan’s northern coast, is a beautiful and serene destination known for its soft white sand and calm waters. It’s a quieter alternative to some of the more crowded beaches, making it ideal for those seeking a peaceful beach day. Backpackers and solo travelers often enjoy Baishawan for its scenic views of the surrounding mountains and coastline. It’s also popular for swimming, picnicking, and beach walks. The nearby Cape Fugui Lighthouse and Laomei Green Reef are other attractions worth exploring after a relaxing day by the water.

December in Taiwan | Two-Day Trip to Kenting
After half a year of planning for Kenting
The sea is really very blue and beautiful
But the wind in December is really strong
Riding a scooter feels like your head is about to be blown off
🗺️Cycling Routes
East Line: Kenting Street - Sail Rock - Eluanbi Park - Southernmost Point - Longpan Park - Wind-blown Sand
West Line: Kenting Street - Nanwan - Maobitou - Baisha Bay - Hengchun Ancient Town
🚌Transportation
From Taipei, take the high-speed rail to Zuoying Station, which takes about two hours;
After getting off at Zuoying Station, take Exit 2 and board the Kenting Express, which runs approximately every thirty minutes and takes about two and a half hours.
💡Tips
🌟About Accommodation
Since we were traveling by public transportation, we stayed near Kenting Street. There are many guesthouses around, so it's recommended not to trust online photos too much. Look at more guides and guest reviews before deciding;
🌟About Food
Most of our main meals were at some stir-fry restaurants, and the taste was generally average. Almost every stir-fry place has a local specialty dish called 'Lover's Tears'. The Kenting Night Market is not very big, so don't have too high expectations for food. Personally, I think Kenting is more about the island scenery;
🌟When renting a scooter, make sure to check the battery level!!! Even if the owner says the battery is enough, be sure to double-check and ask how to handle compensation if the battery runs out midway. Test if the phone can be reached. We had a big issue with renting a scooter, so compare multiple shops and read more rental guides;
🌟Be cautious about cycling around the island in winter. We wore short sleeves because it looked sunny outside, but the strong wind made us question our life choices. We turned back at Eluanbi Park and gave up on the West Line cycling.

I'm relaxing in Kenting, a low-key island getaway in Taiwan
When traveling to Taiwan, besides wandering and eating in the cities, I prefer to just chill in Kenting.
📆 Itinerary:
👉Day 1: Nanwan water activities - Hou Bi Hu seafood - Eluanbi - The third nuclear power plant outlet - Baisha Bay - Guanshan
👉Day 2: Jialeshui - Longpan Park - Sail Rock - Eluanbi Park - Southernmost point of Taiwan - Kenting Night Market
👉Day 3: Hengchun Chuhuo Scenic Area - Hengchun Old Town - Cape No.7 A-Jia's Home
🚗 Travel Tips: Cycling or chartering a car. If two people are traveling, you can find two more companions online; the more people, the more cost-effective.
🌟 Highlights of the trip: Kenting is not only the filming location for many Taiwanese dramas, but also the Oscar-winning film 'Life of Pi' directed by Ang Lee. Most of the attractions here are free, and as you circle the island, you're greeted with long coastlines that are a feast for the eyes. At night, you can indulge in the Kenting Night Market, which is super enjoyable! If you like water activities, you can go to Nanwan for banana boats, jet skis, snorkeling, and more. The water quality of the coast is quite clear, not inferior to the islands in Southeast Asia.
🏫 Accommodation Recommendation:
We stayed at the popular B&B 'Maya's Home', about a 10-minute walk from the Kenting Night Market. In the morning, opening the window, you're immediately greeted with the beautiful scenery of Mount Dajian, covered with cattle and sheep, as if you've arrived in Switzerland.
📌 Fun Tips:
✅ If you're not good at swimming but want to play in the water, you can join the snorkeling course in Nanwan, which has barrier-free communication, allowing you to get up close and personal with the fish.
✅ When eating seafood in Hou Bi Hu, you don't have to go to the popular stores; just pick any without a queue. The quality is just as good, and the prices are cheaper.
✅ For Kenting Night Market, just enjoy the street snacks. We tried several restaurants along the street and they were all disappointing.
✅ In Hengchun, you can try green bean garlic, a famous local dessert. It tastes similar to green bean soup, worth a try.
✅ Next to A-Jia's Home, there is a mailbox for sending postcards, so if you want to send one, you can post it there.
