Bamboo Branch Garden
The Bamboo Branch Garden is located on the north side of Baidi City and was newly built in recent years. The garden is filled with lush bamboo trees and contains a statue of Liu Yuxi, commemorating this Middle Tang Dynasty poet who once served as the governor of Kuizhou. Liu Yuxi, having participated in Wang Shuwen's political reform movement, suffered repeated demotions and successively held the positions of governor of Lianzhou, deputy governor of Langzhou, and governor of Kuizhou, being exiled to remote provinces for a long time. He composed the widely acclaimed 'Bamboo Branch Words' during his time in Kuizhou, from which the name of the Bamboo Branch Garden is derived.

To escape the summer heat, one must always make a trip to the Yangtze River Gorges
To escape the summer heat, one must always make a trip to the Yangtze River Gorges, right? The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River span across the provinces and cities of Chongqing and Hubei, starting from Baidicheng in Fengjie County, Chongqing, to Nanjinguan in Yichang, Hubei. From west to east, they are Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge, with a total length of 193 kilometers. It is one of the natural wonders of China and a treasure of Chinese civilization. The scenery of green mountains and beautiful waters is enchanting and makes one linger.
🚢Transportation:
The most common and classic way to tour the Three Gorges is by taking a cruise. You can sail downstream from Chongqing or upstream from Yichang, enjoying the magnificent scenery of the Three Gorges along the way.
👉Itinerary: 4 days and 3 nights
1. Board the cruise in Chongqing and set sail
2. Dock at Fengdu Pier—Visit Fengdu Ghost City/Fengdu Shuanggui Mountain/Fengdu Xueyu Cave
3. Dock at Fengjie Pier—Visit Baidicheng—Pass through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge—Dock at Wushan Pier—Shennv Stream/Shennong Stream/Xiao Three Gorges/Mountain Shennv Sky Road
4. Disembark at Maoping Pier in Yichang—Experience the ship lift—Visit the Three Gorges Dam—End the trip at the Three Gorges Visitor Center
❤️Main attractions to check in:
1. Fengdu Ghost City: Here you can find grand attractions such as the Naihe Bridge, Ghost Gate, and the Eighteen Layers of Hell.
2. Baidicheng: A place frequently visited by literati and poets, where Li Bai created his timeless verses. Check in at the scene depicted on the back of the 10 yuan banknote.
3. Three Gorges Dam: The world's largest hydroelectric project open to the public, with a unique memorial park and platforms for viewing.

Baidicheng
Baidicheng is actually an island, such a unique location.
Bidding farewell to Baidicheng amidst the colorful clouds, one can return to Jiangling from a thousand miles away in just one day.
Yes, we have arrived at the Baidicheng mentioned in Li Bai's poem. Gongsun Shu proclaimed himself emperor here, and Liu Bei entrusted his son to others here. Located at the mouth of the Qutang Gorge, it overlooks the mountains and the great river.
What I didn't expect was that Baidicheng is actually an island in the middle of the river.
The terrain is superior, the scenery is beautiful, strolling through Baidicheng, the dense forests are lush and serene, deeply experiencing what is meant by 'outstanding people and a spirited place'. Not to mention Li Bai, I took a tour and couldn't help but want to write a poem, but unfortunately, I'm not good with words.
Baidicheng is a half-hour drive from the center of Fengjie County, with an entrance fee of 60 RMB per person.
Flying a drone requires reporting to the police office at the entrance of the scenic area. After crossing the river on a footbridge, you reach the island where Baidicheng is located, and continue walking towards the highest point of the island.
You will pass through the Bamboo Garden, which is filled with poems and verses.
Poets from different dynasties such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi, and Lu You have left their masterpieces in Baidicheng, hence it is also known as 'Poetry City'. The highest point of the island is the Baidi Temple.
Upon entering, you can see the scene of Liu Bei entrusting his son depicted with sculptures, and further inside is the core scenic area with buildings in the style of traditional Chinese courtyards.
Displayed are cultural relics from various dynasties unearthed at different times, including stone steles, sculptures, pottery, etc.
One must-see is the 'Phoenix Stele', the treasure of Baidicheng.
The exquisite carving tells the history.
After visiting the Baidi Temple, walking down the road,
you can reach the 'Ten Yuan Renminbi Viewing Platform', where you can see the Kui Gate, which is the entrance to the Qutang Gorge. Ships carrying goods shuttle back and forth, located on the Yangtze River waterway fortress.
The clouds rise along the mountains in various shapes.
Compared to the magnificence of the Wushan Mountains, Fengjie has more elegance. Such a place with breathtaking scenery and a profound historical background is really worth a visit!

Baidi City in Fengjie
Just like my hometown Yunyang, the old county town of Fengjie has been destroyed and submerged under the Yangtze River. Yidou Gate and Yong'an Palace have been destroyed, only the higher-lying Baidi City has survived.
Baidi City was originally on a peninsula in the river, and one had to climb a mountain road to reach it. Now the land has been submerged by the river water, turning it into an isolated island.
The Qing Dynasty's colorful mountain gate is the essence of Baidi City, and it is inscribed by a great calligrapher. Inside there are sculptures commemorating Liu Bei and a stele forest from a more recent era, which can be quickly toured.
From the island, one can gaze upon the Kui Gate and the peaks of the Three Gorges; what is majestic is no longer the mountains, but the vast expanse of river water. The water is deep when it's green, and broad when it's blue; this 170-meter-deep stretch of water is the starting point of the Three Gorges.
I spent 50 yuan on a taxi back to Kui Gate Square, and ate Gega lamb and fatty chicken intestines there. I saw wine infused with golden cherries, a kind of sweet fruit.
The taxi driver said that they all love to swim in the river, even in winter.

Travel on the road to Baidi City and Qutang Gorge
In the morning, I bid farewell to the colorful clouds of Baidi City, and return to Jiangling a thousand miles away in one day.
The cries of monkeys on both banks are incessant, and the light boat has already passed through thousands of mountains.
This familiar poem, known as the fastest poem in the world, mentions Baidi City, which is also the most famous tourist spot in Fengjie.
As a person from Fengjie, I have always had expectations for the Baidi City Qutang Gorge Scenic Area, hoping that it will become a 5A scenic area and contribute a little ticket money.
Although it was successfully promoted to a 5A-level scenic spot in 22 years, I failed to fulfill my promise and contribute immediately.
I missed it two or three times, and this time I finally made it.
From the new county town of Fengjie to the Baidi City Qutang Gorge Scenic Area is about 15 kilometers, you can take a bus or a taxi (taxi, motorcycle and private car are all available), you can bargain if you take a taxi, basically within 25 will go, the return is also about the same price, if it is from the high-speed rail station, you can take the tourist line to Wushan Airport, but there are very few trains, it is recommended to choose other means of transportation (the high-speed rail station can basically be done for 50 yuan).
The scenic area is composed of two scenic spots, which are worth a visit.
First, Baidi City
Of course, it is the one mentioned by countless poets.
There is Li Bai's 'In the morning, I bid farewell to the colorful clouds of Baidi City, and return to Jiangling a thousand miles away in one day.'
There is Du Fu's 'Endless falling wood rustles down, the rolling Yangtze River is endless.'
There is Liu Yuxi's 'The sun rises in the east and it rains in the west, the road is clear but there is sunshine.'
Of course, there are many, many more mentions of him, so I won't go into them one by one.
Entering the scenic area is the Wind and Rain Corridor, which symbolizes good weather and national peace.
At the entrance of the corridor, you can see the poem 'Early Departure from Baidi City', which instantly gives people a sense of familiarity and heaviness.
On the pillars of the corridor, if you look carefully, you will also see many poems.
After walking through the corridor, you will arrive at Zhongyi Square, where there is a statue of Zhuge Liang, with his 'Chu Shi Biao' behind him. It's great for taking pictures.
After visiting Zhongyi Square, there are two choices, one is to continue walking forward, go to the pier to take a boat to the opposite side to see Kui Men, see Qutang Gorge, the other choice is to go back a little bit, first go to see Baidi City.
I went to Baidi City first, there is a slide at the climbing place, you can also choose to climb, climbing is actually not high, about 10 minutes, you can climb to the gate of Baidi City, a little further in is the landmark building Baidi Temple, there are many things to see in the temple, the stele forest, Tuogu Hall, Shuhan Hall, Guanxing Terrace, Bai Building, are all in here, if you play slowly, an hour will pass.
There are still many historical elements in it, if you just take a cursory look, you can't really appreciate its depth.
After visiting Baidi Temple, it is recommended to come out from the main entrance, walk a few steps to reach the best viewing point of Kui Men, which is the point of the ten yuan background picture, it's really great for taking pictures.
Then continue walking along the road, you will arrive at Zhuzhi Garden, where you can see a lot of introductions related to Zhuzhi Ci, inscriptions, poems, statues of Liu Yuxi, etc.
After visiting here, you can choose to return to the original road to take a boat, the Baidi City scenic spot is basically finished.
This scenic spot is actually very suitable for taking pictures, red walls and green trees, it's really great. The cultural and creative ice cream is also worth buying.
Second, Qutang Gorge
Is Qutang the most beautiful of the Three Gorges? Anyway, as someone who has seen all three gorges, I think it is.
There are actually two ways to take a boat, one is the ferry included in the ticket, which runs every half an hour, but it only takes you to the opposite bank.
The other is a deep tour, 50 yuan per person, take a luxury big boat, to tour Qutang Gorge, the whole journey is 50 minutes.
I chose to take the ferry over (it takes about five minutes), the first scenic spot on shore is the Jiangxia Museum, you can go and see, there are ancient elephants, and many exhibits related to the Three Gorges migrants, it's very good.
After coming out, walking up slowly, you will see the Lock River Iron Pillar, looking forward, the majestic Kui Gate is in front of you.
Continue walking forward, there are two choices, one is to go up, which is the former Kui Zhou Museum and the Cannon Tower, but they are all uphill, the scenery is good, depending on your physical strength.
If you keep walking forward, it is the Chijia Building, there are many macaques in it, it is recommended not to carry extra plastic bags, although the monkeys are very cute and obedient, but sometimes they will snatch things from your hands.
Of course, there is another choice here, which is to walk directly to the top of the Three Gorges, this is suitable for those with good physical strength and plenty of time.
After visiting Chijia Building and the museum above, the happy journey is over, it's really great.
Ticket: The main ticket is 95, if you want to go deep into Qutang Gorge, it is 140, it's quite good (if your ID card is from Fengjie, there will be a discount).
The whole journey is not a minefield, and there are no recommended strategies, just arrange according to your own physical strength and preferences.

The Emperor of the Gorge - Impossible Beauty
White Emperor City stands aloft a beautiful mountain at the mouth of the world renowned Three Gorges. Most people visit as part of a cruise either from Chongqing to Yi Chang or from Yi Chang to Chongqing. The complex features numerous gorgeous historic buildings and museums. From atop the mountain visitors have the perfect opportunity to photograph the famous gorge. #yangtze #Threegorges #Cruise #history #freehotelstay #falltrip

The Story of The White Emperor City
This was a walk back in time. From the statuary to the calligraphy to the majesty of the the views, I felt at once an explorer and a learner. My guide walked me through and told me the tales of the heroic and beloved White Emperor. I still feel the magic of this beautiful place though I am long gone.
