I. Preparation
1. Ticket Reservation: Follow the official WeChat account "Hebei Museum" to book free tickets in advance. Entry is granted upon presenting your ID card.
2. Opening Hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00–18:30. Last entry is at 18:00. Closed on Mondays.
3. Plan Your Visit: For an in-depth visit, it is recommended to reserve 4–5 hrs. If you only want to see the highlights, 2–3 hrs will suffice.
II. Transportation
1. Public Transportation: Take Subway Line 1 directly to the Museum station. You can also take buses No. 1, 5, 10, 18, etc.
2. By Car: The museum has an underground parking lot, which is convenient for visitors driving their own cars.
III. Visiting Route
1. In-depth Visit: Start from the third floor and visit downwards. The third floor, south area, features "Hebei in the Stone Age," "Hebei's Shang Dynasty Civilization," "A Song of Grief and Indignation - The Story of the State of Yan," and "A Song of Grief and Indignation - The Story of the State of Zhao." The second floor, south area, features "The Majesty of the Warring States - The Ancient State of Zhongshan" and "The Swan Song of the Han Dynasty - The Mancheng Han Tombs." The first floor, south area, features "Quyang Stone Carvings," "Northern Dynasties Murals," and "Famous Kilns and Porcelains."
2. Brief Visit: Focus on the second floor, visiting "The Majesty of the Warring States - The Ancient State of Zhongshan" and "The Swan Song of the Han Dynasty - The Mancheng Han Tombs." Then, depending on your time and interest, choose exhibition halls on the first floor, such as "Quyang Stone Carvings" and "Northern Dynasties Murals."
IV. Must-See Exhibits
1. Jade Burial Suit with Gold Thread: The earliest unearthed, best-preserved, and highest-ranking jade burial suit with gold thread in China, belonging to Liu Sheng, the Prince Jing of Zhongshan, and his wife, Dou Wan.
2. Changxin Palace Lantern: Known as the "First Lantern of China," it is exquisitely crafted using gilding techniques. Its ingenious design utilizes the siphon principle to solve the problem of lamp smoke pollution.
3. Boshan Incense Burner with Gold Inlay: Unearthed from the tomb of Liu Sheng, the Prince Jing of Zhongshan in Mancheng, it is entirely inlaid with gold. Shaped like the legendary Boshan, a mountain in the sea, it is a rare artistic treasure among Han Dynasty relics.
4. Bronze Ding with Iron Feet from the Tomb of the King of Zhongshan: The largest bronze ding with iron feet discovered so far, and also the Warring States bronze ware with the most inscriptions. The body of the ding is engraved with 469 characters, recording the historical event of the ancient State of Zhongshan attacking the State of Yan.
V. Guided Tour Services
1. Free Guided Tours: Gather at the service desk on the first floor, south area, at 9:30, 10:00 in the morning, and 2:00 in the afternoon. The tour lasts approximately 2 hrs.
2. Self-Guided Tours: Audio guides are available for rent, or you can access audio guides through the official WeChat account. VR glasses are also available for rent, suitable for children.
