You will find peace and serenity here while you wander around the grounds of the monastery. There are a few pavillions inside where you can also observe and enter. Just a reminder that this monastry has monks in it so you might see them praying or doing their daily activities, just make sure to observe silence to respect them. I used to study at Manjusri Secondary School and thus it was a pleasant surprise that I got to come to Manjushri Monastery at Chengdu. We went to give our most sincere prayers and got to admire the historical structures. I like the blend of red used in the structures as red is my favourite colour. There is an area where they sell tea and snacks. We sat there and bought the tea and snacks to enjoy the culture there.

📌 Take line 1 to the Wenshu Monastery stop, Exit K, keep walking on that side of the street for about 200m till you see the gate. 🏯 Attractions - The monastery is very peaceful and walking around won't take too long. The surrounding trees also brings peace to the experience. There are also many small markets around which you can look at and buy a souvenir or two. 🥢 This is the main reason why I come back to this area. They have the famous "sweet water noodles" (甜水面) which are very cheap (10-15RMB). It is always very crowded, so expect to have to take it outside to eat. Wenshu Monastery. This is big and old monastery in Chengdu with adorned pillars at the entrances to shrines and temples and typically for curved roofs. The area is very big, required time is no less than two hours. The monastery has long green alleys and park with stone sculptures. Bamboo and subtropical trees make it a little bit dark and mysterious. Many tourist are coming there. Subway station is very close to ticket office

It was originally the residence of Shi Zhao Wu, a warlord during the Republic of China period. Shi Zhao Wu was notorious at the time and was executed after being defeated in battle in 1933. Afterwards, the residence was returned to the government and is currently preserved as a representative cultural property of Wenshuibang. The blue bricks and antique pavilions of the Joseon Hall are the landmarks of Wenshuibang. The inner walls are engraved with a map of Chengdu and a list of temples from 1962, allowing a glimpse into the city's past. In particular, the relief wall with the seal script characters "Nochengdu" engraved on it evokes a strong historical atmosphere. If you visit Wenshuibang, it is recommended to visit various historical sites such as Wenshuiyuan, Yu Zhenhou's official residence, and Gaoliangliang Tomb in addition to the Joseon Hall.

It's been many years since I last visited Wenshu Monastery and Wenshu Fang, the changes are really significant. Despite the late autumn and overcast weather, the place is still bustling. The main streets are set up with markets, exuding a strong cultural atmosphere. Wenshu Fang has now become a large incense garden, gathering many stylish teahouses, fully showcasing the tea culture of Sichuan people. Some teahouses even offer many classes on Zen tea tasting, attracting many young people to come and pass on the ancient culture to the younger generation, which is quite rare. 📷📷 Highlights: The number of food and drink shops in Wenshu Fang may not be as many as before, but the quality has stepped up a notch. The design and management of the entire project are very orderly, parking is also convenient, everything is well-organized. 🕒🕒 Tour time: 1-2 hours 🤔 Personally, I think the things here are relatively expensive, and the handmade cultural and creative peripherals are also quite expensive.

#2024wish In the second day of our trip to Chengdu China, my brother in law suggested to go Wenshu Yuan Monastery. Thus, off we went. When we reached the entrance, we saw a long corridor of red walls. A lot of visitors took photos over there. We did the same. Then, we went inside to explore and also took the chance to pray. In 2024, I hope to go Zhangjiajie in China with my family.

Wenshu Monastery is a must visit place where you can see a lot of magnificent statues of Buddhist and the monastery gives a feeling of entering into an ancient village. Everything is well preserved.
