Wenfeng Wooden Pagoda
Zhongwangbao Wooden Pagoda, also known as 'Wenyunfu', 'Wenfeng Pagoda', 'Wenfeng Wooden Pagoda', 'Wenfeng Temple Pagoda', 'Wooden Pagoda Temple Pagoda', 'Sanyuan Zhongwangbao Wooden Pagoda', is a Buddhist building located in the northeast of Zhongwangbao Village, Beixi Town, Sanyuan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. It was first built in the 22nd year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1594).
Zhongwangbao Wooden Pagoda is a hexagonal wooden pavilion with four eaves, 20 meters high, with a brick and stone base 4 meters high and 13 meters long on each side. The top of the pagoda is a hexagonal pointed roof covered with glazed tiles, with upturned eaves decorated with ridge beasts and wind chimes. The interior is supported by six through-columns, with the bottom layer of columns hidden within the walls, forming a lower eave corridor. The brick steps of the pagoda base serve as the passage to ascend the pagoda, with a door and wooden ladder on the bottom layer for climbing up. The Zhongwangbao Wooden Pagoda bears witness to the architectural craftsmanship of the Ming Dynasty and reflects the cultural, economic, religious, and other aspects of the society at that time.
