Located on the bank of Xin'an River, it runs east-west and is more than 800 meters long. It is a typical direction of ancient Chinese streets. The old street prospered during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and it is still bustling with people coming and going.
At the east end of the old street, there is an archway and a screen wall with "Tunxi Old Street" written on it. Along the street are Wancuilou Museum, Tunxi Museum and souvenir shops. They have the elegance of the scrolls of rice paper, ink and inkstone, the four treasures of the study, and the charm of the market of teahouses and restaurants.
Liyang Old Street
Liyang in Lane, built on the original site of Liyang Old Street, faces Tunxi Old Street across the river. There are several famous mansions with high cultural and historical value preserved on the street. "Visit Huangshan during the day and stay in Liyang at night." As night falls, the Liyang Old Street under the moonlight presents a lively and interesting appearance.
Wandering around here, you can discover Lijiang-style literature and art, or Gulangyu-like freshness. Liyang after nightfall has a poetic Huifeng and Anhui charm. Ancient and modern meet, tradition and fashion complement each other.
Wenfeng Bridge
Wenfeng Bridge is located at the mouth of Sanjiang River. It is a bridge that inherits cultural heritage, displays Huizhou charm, and benefits people's livelihood. Wenfeng Bridge adopts a covered bridge structure that integrates ancient connotations and modern transportation functions. In the middle of the bridge is a lotus-shaped observation deck with 27-meter-high eaves. The left and right sidewalks use antique bridges with rain and sun protection functions. The corridor, and the carvings and couplets on the bridge fully demonstrate the historical context of Huizhou, especially Tunxi, through the ages.
