Weizhou Ancient City is located on a platform on the south bank of Huliu River. At present, the south and east walls of Weizhou Ancient City have been completely demolished. The remaining well-preserved ones are the north wall and the northern section of the west wall, which is about 1,600 meters long. The east and west gates have been destroyed, and only the south gate remains. Wanshan Tower and Wenchang Pavilion in the city were restored and rebuilt in 1998. The east, west and south sides of the moat basically exist, and the stone bridge outside the three gates still exists. Introduction to Lingyan Temple: Lingyan Temple is one of the scenic spots in Weizhou Ancient City. It is commonly known as the front temple and is located on Gulou West Street in Weizhou Ancient City. According to relevant historical records: Lingyan Temple was first built in the Jin Dynasty, destroyed in the late Yuan Dynasty, and rebuilt in the sixth year of the Zhengtong Period of the Ming Dynasty (1441). Lingyan Temple faces south and covers an area of 6,682 square meters. There are three halls from south to north, namely the Passing Hall and the Main Hall, and the Sutra Pavilion is built behind. Recommended attractions: The Main Hall of Lingyan Temple has a hip roof, a beam structure, and a painted caisson, which is a typical official style of the Ming Dynasty. The temple was built by Emperor Yingzong at the request of Wang Zhen, a Weizhou native, during the Zhengtong Period of the Ming Dynasty. The Weixian Grain Culture Museum is located in the temple.
