Came to the fairytale town in my mind ~ Hemu So there is this unique memory about Altay Next are some travel tips 1⃣ Transportation: I took a flight to Urumqi, and then took K9765 to transfer to Altay Station. I bought a hard sleeper (soft sleeper must be reserved in advance) and arrived in the morning after one night's sleep. The rest of the trip was to follow the tour group. 2⃣Clothing: I went there in January, and I recommend down jackets, thick leggings, and snow boots. It’s best to bring high boots that are waterproof and non-slip, otherwise they will get wet. You can bring some warm packs to stick inside your shoes and clothes (I forgot to bring them, but I found that the tour guide had them in his car, so thoughtful) 3⃣ Itinerary: I signed up for a seven-day, six-night tour, which included cars, accommodation, tickets to attractions, insurance, etc. Overall, I was quite satisfied. It included Hemu, Kanas, Baihaba and Jikepulin ski resorts (it's very good to experience skiing. If you don't know how, you can hire a coach or even Didi to ski for you). If you want to ride a horse or a horse-drawn plow, you can go to Hemu. You can choose to go back and forth to the observation deck to overlook the whole village. You can go there around 9 o'clock to see the golden mountain in the sun, but it's really cold to ride a horse 🥶 Be sure to wear more clothes 4⃣Food: Prices in the village are relatively high, so I won’t recommend any. If you want to take nice photos, you can check in at some cafes. Coffee and cakes are also very nice in photos. In Altay City, I recommend eating the rural naankeng meat. Each dish is very large and the fig yogurt is also delicious. 5⃣Safety: Many sisters would worry about whether it is safe to travel alone. Since I was traveling with a group, I had companions along the way, so I didn’t have to worry, and the police could be seen everywhere. I was in such a hurry to catch the train that I dropped my mainland China ID card at the Urumqi Railway Station. Surprisingly, I had a smooth journey afterwards (because I needed to apply for a border pass to go to Baibaha Village, and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get it, but as long as I had a photo of my mainland China ID card, it would be fine).
