Hidden ancient village in Quzhou, a zero-pollution stargazing paradise
Weichi Xingxiu Gaotian | A starry sky journey in an ancient village✨
Environment
- Ancient village scenery: Weichi Xingxiu Gaotian is located in Gaotiankeng Ancient Village, Changhong Township, Kaihua, Quzhou. At an altitude of nearly 700 meters, it is an ideal place for stargazing in East China. The ancient village has preserved a large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with bluestone roads, wooden carved windows, horsehead walls, and more. Every step is a mark of history. The village is surrounded by layers of terraced fields. In spring and summer, the green rice fields sway in the wind, like a green skirt of the earth.
- Starry sky feast: This is a natural dark night area certified by the International Dark-Sky Association, with almost zero light pollution. The air is purer and more stable than in low-altitude areas. At night, you can see a sky full of stars, as if the entire universe is in front of you. The Milky Way is clearly visible on summer nights, making it the "most beautiful starry sky ancient village in China."
Facilities
- Unique rooms: 5 old houses, 21 rooms, with rammed earth exterior walls and black tiles, a traditional and primitive appearance, but with a unique interior. There are various room types, each different. The interior design combines the characteristics of rammed earth buildings in western Zhejiang, with a textured space that seems to breathe. The large floor-to-ceiling windows enhance the transparency of the space, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window from your room. The open washing space and bathtub are standard in the rooms, and a projector is thoughtfully prepared, allowing you to watch movies and stargaze with friends or loved ones at night.
- Leisure and entertainment: The homestay is equipped with an indoor swimming pool, a great place to relax in summer. There is also a rest area by the pool, where children can play in the water while parents chat and laugh nearby. In addition, there are starry sky observatories, planet parks, cafes, reading rooms, village markets, and other facilities, allowing you to enjoy a comprehensive experience.
Food experience
The homestay's restaurant is located deep in the village, offering three meals a day. The open and transparent restaurant environment allows you to see the swaying green bamboo outside the window at any time. Here, you can taste the local specialties of Kaihua, such as fresh clear water fish, soft and glutinous steamed cakes, and various farm dishes that combine the culinary characteristics of Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Fujian, allowing you to enjoy delicious food while experiencing the local customs and culture.
