Wattay International Airport (VTE), Vientiane, Laos
Wattay International Airport 🇱🇦
It is the largest international airport in Laos and is a connecting point to many destinations. Due to its small size, there are not many facilities or shops here. You do not need to arrive 2-3 hours early like in other places. You can arrive around 1.50 hours before your flight without worrying about missing your flight because there is not much time for check-in, immigration and customs.

Lao Airlines Lao Airlines flight QV 104 departed from Luang Prabang International Airport to Wat Sai International Airport in Vientiane, taking only 30 minutes to fly. The aircraft used for this flight was a relatively new ATR72-600 propeller plane that was only a few years old. This small plane is popular all over the world. This airline allows a baggage allowance of 20 kilograms. Drinking water is served on the flight.

🇱🇦Vientiane, Laos "Wattay International Airport" It's a short airport, just a 2-minute walk from one end to the other, or a 10-minute bus ride, and the reliefs are a sight to behold!
The main entrance to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, is Wattay International Airport. The international and domestic terminals are connected into one long, simple terminal. It is a small airport that takes about 2 minutes to walk from one end to the other at a brisk pace. The departure floor is even smaller, and there is no currency exchange, only a souvenir shop and a cafe. A distinctive feature is the wooden relief displayed in the center of the first floor. You can feel Laos. The wooden relief is very convenient, about 10 minutes from the bus stop near the Lao Plaza Hotel. By the way, the sandwich served on the Lao Airlines flight was cooked at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the bus road ☺ Wattana Airport is a small and close airport!!

✈️ Lao Airlines in-flight meal experience and tips

📍 Incheon Airport, South Korea - Wattay Airport, Laos
💁🏻♂️ Ttukbokki's [Laos Travel] Story
Lao Airlines, a direct flight from Incheon to Vientiane! They served in-flight meals not long after takeoff. It's been a while since I've had in-flight meals... The rice, which tasted similar to samgyetang, was good. You can tell it's an old plane, but the flight attendants were very friendly, and since it's a national airline, they provide bread and drinks as snacks before landing in addition to the in-flight meals. You can also request Beer Lao, a Laos beer. However, they served it when I was heading to Laos, but not when I was returning to Korea~

Wattay International Airport
Vientiane International Airport is another airport that tourists must use when coming to Vientiane. It is a small airport with the same standards as other airports, both clean and airy. For Thais who come here, you don't have to worry about the language. Plus, the baht can be used like in Thailand. I can say in one word, "comfortable". Before boarding the plane, you must have a vaccination certificate. No need to check for Covid before boarding the plane. #laos

An Unexpected Airport Adventure: Vientiane to Singapore

I arrived at the departure hall of Vientiane's international airport bright and early at 7 AM, taking a taxi from my hotel that set me back 170,000 kips. I handed the driver 200,000 kips, only to be met with a disappointing claim that he had no small change to return—ouch! The airport, though small, is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the city, albeit costing a hefty 200,000 kips or 10 USD for the ride.
The airport's design is modest, a testament to the Japanese grant that made its construction possible in 1998. Upon entering, you're greeted by two sides—domestic on the right and international on the left. Both sides feature some shops, but the price difference between domestic and international shops is comically vast. Naturally, I gravitated towards the domestic side and grabbed my breakfast at Laffe.
The check-in process was smooth and swift, taking a mere 10 minutes. Now, with my boarding pass in hand and excitement in the air, I'm all set to fly to Singapore! ✈️

The Colorful Kip Currency Exchange Adventure in Laos

#LaosExperience#TravelTips#ExploreLaos
As I prepared for my journey from Malaysia to Laos, I knew that acquiring the local currency, kip, would be a crucial part of my travel plans. Due to the low demand and value of the kip, it wasn't available for purchase in Malaysia, so I armed myself with a mix of USD and Ringgit.
Upon my arrival at the airport in Laos, I was relieved to find several currency exchange banks conveniently located right there. The current exchange rate was 1 USD for 21,470 kips, and I decided to change 350 ringgit, receiving an impressive 1.6 million kips in return. It was thrilling to hold such a large amount of local currency, beautifully adorned with images of Buddhist pagodas that resembled the iconic Pha That Luang.
Throughout my trip, I discovered that changing money was quite easy. Malls and street vendors alike offered currency exchange services, and many shops even accepted Thai baht and Chinese yuan. I was able to purchase a Unitel SIM card for 30 Chinese yuan, ensuring I could stay connected during my travels.
At each currency exchange, I had to complete a green form, documenting my passport details, the reason for the exchange, and the type of money I used. Though a small task, it added a touch of formality to the otherwise straightforward process.
Overall, my currency exchange adventure in Laos was an exciting and colorful introduction to the vibrant and diverse local economy. It set the stage for the many memorable experiences that awaited me on this journey.

First time ever flying Lao Airlines ✈️
#newyearnewtrip
This trip is a flight from Vientiane,Lao to Bangkok, Thailand ✈️
Lao Airlines generally offers a reliable, if basic, service for travelers flying within Laos or to nearby countries.
Service
* Customer Service: Passengers often report friendly staff, though English proficiency can be limited, especially outside major cities.
* In-flight Experience: In-flight service is typically simple. On shorter flights, there may be minimal refreshments, but passengers flying longer routes might experience light meals or snacks.
Comfort
* Seating: The seating on Lao Airlines flights is typically standard economy class with reasonable legroom, though some passengers find the seats a bit cramped, especially on older planes.
* Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the aircraft is generally good, though it can vary depending on the age of the plane.
Routes
* Lao Airlines connects a number of cities within Laos (Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Pakse) and offers international flights to neighboring countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, and Myanmar.
* The network is smaller than larger regional carriers, which may limit choices for some travelers.
Value for Money
Lao Airlines tends to offer competitive fares, particularly on domestic routes. However, some passengers feel that the quality of the flight experience may not always match the price, especially on shorter regional routes.
Lao Airlines is generally a decent choice for short domestic flights and regional connections. It offers good value for those traveling within Southeast Asia, though travelers may want to be prepared for the occasional delay or less-than-luxurious amenities.

Vientiane Airport, Laos
Today I am returning to Bangkok, Thailand from my old nest Vientiane. Normally I take the bus, but if I have something to deal with, I can just fly! The air tickets are so expensive, I felt heartbroken for two seconds. Today's sunshine and clouds are my favorite state for taking photos. The clouds are thick enough and the sunshine can shine through the gaps, giving a feeling of brilliant light. The feeling of the explosive ejaculation is very visually impactful, I like it!

Goodbye Laos now...
#HotelAccommodationEvent
I'm about to leave after a long ten-day trip.
I have a lot of regrets about this place. It's Laos.
I didn't prepare much in advance, but I'm glad I left healthy and with many memories.
Next time, I'll come during the dry season and make more memories.

Watthai International Airport, where duty free shops are sold...
#Hotel Accommodation Event
This is where Wat Thai International Airport sells duty-free goods.
It is quite small in size and there are not many items to buy ~.
In other international airports, you look around duty-free goods and then board the plane, but here in Laos, there is nothing to see, so it seems disappointing. It seems like it would be good to make good use of this.

Now leaving Vientiane, Laos...
#HotelAccommodationEvent
This is Vientiane Wat Tai International Airport.
It is large in scale, as befitting the capital of Laos.
Within Laos.
Judging from the placard indicating the L-J cooperative relationship, it seems that Laos and Japan are operating the airport's operation system through a cooperative relationship.
There is a congratulatory message for the 25th anniversary.

Vientiane International Airport...

This is Wattay International Airport. It's the first place you encounter when entering Laos.
Because it was evening, it was hard to tell the overall size of the airport and other things. On top of that, it was raining. After taking a few quick pictures, it looks like we'll have to quickly move to our accommodations today.

Landing at Vientiane Airport
Vientiane Airport is cleaner than before, but still very small.
It's a super small airport, but there are still bridges to walk through, maybe there are not many flights.
I took AirAsia from Bangkok to Vientiane. After landing, I walked a few steps and prepared to enter the country. I filled in the landing visa form on the right side of the immigration office and then lined up to pay.
After getting the visa, you can enter Laos.
There are many small shops in the arrival hall, all with the logo of selling phone cards. I wanted to change money at first, but I couldn't find it. Later, I found that every shop can change money. . . . . The ratio is really good.
A 10-day phone card costs 70,000 Lao currency, which is about 100 Thai baht, not expensive.

Wattay International Airport Domestic Shop
It's a small airport. Prices are different between international and domestic flights. If you're looking to save money, I recommend going to the domestic airport to buy things. The sandwich in the photo was 18,000k. Smoking is prohibited outside, so if you smoke outside the designated smoking area, a police officer will come to collect a fine. Be careful.

💁🏻♂️ Ttukboki's [Laos Travel] Tips
Wattay International Airport, the gateway to Laos and located in Vientiane. It is convenient to take a taxi or minibus when traveling from the airport to the city. After you go through immigration - the airport is not that big - you can easily find the counter. Just tell the driver your destination, pay the fare, and follow him. The fare can also be calculated in dollars, so there is no need to exchange money at the airport where the exchange rate is not good!

"Wattay Airport" in Vientiane, Laos. A small airport, delicious cakes at the cafe!! Delicious cakes in Laos🍰😋
"Wattay Airport" is only an 8-minute drive from the hotel in the city center. There are 2 hours and 40 minutes until departure. First, I tried to exchange the remaining Lao money, but the exchange office told me that Lao money cannot be exchanged for foreign currency. In fact, Lao kip (Lao currency) is a currency that cannot be exchanged anywhere outside the country. This means that I have no choice but to use it up or exchange it at a store that will exchange it for dollars. I managed to exchange it for dollars, but I still had plenty of time. I popped into the only cafe in the boarding area, "DEX COFFEE". I ordered a beautiful red cake called "Red Valent", and it was very delicious. Lao cakes are the same as Japanese cakes that are not too sweet, so they suit Japanese people! Finally, we boarded. It was time to say goodbye to Laos, where I had made many discoveries! 🇱🇦
