We were shocked at how many good shops there were around Chiang Mai- lots being very modern, selling beautiful handmade items. We visited the completely silver covered temple & then sat and had a Chang Classic beer, as we people watched at a local bar. Every year Wat Chedi Luang is hosting Overnight prayer event on December 31st. In my opinion, it was the best place to do overnight prayer in Chiangmai. There were seating on all side of the pagoda, plenty of chairs available. In the beginning, they would allocate prayer books so it was easy to follow the prayer. At the end, the would give small amulets to everyone. The setting was incredibly charming. The pagoda itself was beautiful. It was such a spiritual event after all.
