Upakut Temple
Any spiritual line is a hit. It's very popular right now. It has to be a spiritual line. Which temple is good? Which temple is popular? Asking for blessings will bring good fortune, work, and finances. If you are in Chiang Mai or traveling to Chiang Mai and want to pray, where should you go? Many questions, many answers. This time, let's clear up your doubts.
Take you to Wat Upakut, located in Chang Klan Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. Wat Upakut has an important tradition: the alms-giving tradition of Phra Upakut. It is said that Phra Upakut would disguise himself as a novice monk to collect alms at midnight. Therefore, the tradition of giving alms at midnight was born. However, if you come during the day, you can still pray.
Let's start at the entrance to the temple, which is a wide archway. When you enter, you have to look at the parking lot first because the parking lot inside the temple is limited. We will see an archway where we can bring flowers, incense, and candles to worship Phra Upakut. Make merit according to your faith. But if you want to worship red candles as well, make merit for 99 baht. When you bring flowers, incense, candles, and red candles, you can write your name, surname, and date of birth on the red candle. When you are done writing, take the candle to pray to Phra Upakut inside the temple. There will be a prayer to worship Phra Upakut posted in front. And when it's finished, bring the red candle to stick in front of the front temple, which will have red candles from the prayers of many visitors.
The first step of the worship is complete. Walk to the left, opposite the temple where you have finished praying and making merit. You will find the temple where people are waiting in line to go up and worship Phra Maha Upakut. To go up to this temple, wait in line because the walking space is quite limited, only 2 people per entrance to the temple. The steps to worship are:
Ring the bell 3 times first, then walk up the stairs.
When you reach the temple, say the prayers to Phra Maha Upakut.
When you get off the temple, ring the bell 3 more times.
Let me tell you that this temple is a legendary temple of the Mu line. Anyone who comes to Chiang Mai should not miss visiting Wat Upakut because if you worship, it will be successful and bring good fortune. This is the only temple.
