Phangnga
The temple is quite peaceful. Inside the temple, at the entrance to the cave, there are monkeys, quite tame. There are both Thai and foreign tourists feeding the monkeys. At the entrance to the cave, you will find a pagoda that stores the ashes of the ancestors of the Na Takua Thung family. Beyond that area, there is a large reclining Buddha image and many old Buddha images. Further up is a staircase about as high as a 3-story building. You will find the royal initials of King Rama IX and other royal initials before going down into the dark cave. Inside the cave, it is quite damp. Birds come to live in the cave area.

A Journey Into Tranquility: The Enigmatic Wat Suwan Kuha Cave Temple
#newyearnewtrip #travelanywhere #myitinerary
Hidden in the lush hills of Phang Nga, Wat Suwan Kuha, also known as the Monkey Cave, is a mystical blend of nature and spirituality. As I wandered through the cave, the air thick with serenity, I was in awe of the colossal Reclining Buddha statue that greeted me. Surrounded by ancient stalactites and stalagmites, the statue exudes a sense of peace that’s almost tangible.
The temple, located in Takua Thung, offers a unique experience. While the monkeys play nearby, the cave itself feels like a quiet sanctuary away from the world.
Travel tip: Be mindful of the monkeys—they're playful but can be cheeky! Visit early in the morning to avoid crowds and fully absorb the tranquil atmosphere. Wat Suwan Kuha is a must-see for those seeking a mix of cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Wat Suwan Khuha, also known as Wat Tham (Cave Temple), is an important ancient temple in Phang Nga province because it contains significant historical sites of Phang Nga. Inside, there are various caves such as the Great Cave, Jaeng Cave, Dark Cave, Glass Cave, Bee Cave, Kitchen Cave, and the highest one, Top Cave. Let's worship the Buddha in the cave...at Suwannakhuha Temple, Phang Nga.
Phang Nga will no longer be just a pass-through. This Phuket trip, I went on a tour of Phang Nga and stopped at Wat Suwannakhuha as my first stop.
This temple is located in Tambon Krasom, Amphoe Takua Thung, Phang Nga Province. It doesn't take long to get there by crossing the Sarasin Bridge from Phuket.
Inside the temple, the first checkpoint you'll encounter is the local monkeys. However, they don't steal from tourists like other places. There are locals selling monkey food to tourists.
Inside the cave, it's quite spacious. There's a reclining Buddha that you can see from afar. There are stairs to walk up to see the cave that's deep inside.
Bats also live in this cave, so you can smell them.
I didn't see the cave for long before going outside to get some fresh air before continuing my journey to Phang Nga Bay.
